Myra Adkins Coleman, 89, of Shelbiana, died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at Signature Health Care, Pikeville, Kentucky. She was born in Pike County, Kentucky, March 17, 1920, the daughter of the late Thomas Albert Adkins and Nancy Arminta Kinney Adkins. She was retired from the Kentucky Welfare Office, a homemaker, and a member of the Shelby United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rush F. Coleman; four brothers, Lester Adkins, Ferrell Adkins, Mallie Adkins and Maurice Adkins; and five sisters, Ethel Ward, Eunice Stewart, Bessie England, Esta Hamilton and Elzie Adkins. She is survived by two nieces, Julie Ann Conley of Taylor, Mich., and Betty Rose Mittel of Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, in the Shelby United Methodist Church with burial following in the R.H. Ratliff Cemetery, Shelbiana. Arrangements are under direction of J.W.
