Mary Elizabeth Amburgey, 83,
widow of Burl J. Amburgey, died Thu, May 31, 2007 at Central Baptist
Hospital following a brief illness. Born March 30, 1924 in Fayette County,
she was the daughter of the late Homer and Alma English. She
was retired from the Controllers Office at the University of Kentucky and
a member of Epworth Methodist Church. She was a Kentucky Colonel since
1964 and a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She is survived by two daughters,
Grace (Gerard) Davet of Mansfield, TX and
Linda (Kenneth) Hisel of Nicholasville, KY; brother Robert (Alice)
English of Lexington; two sister-in-laws Rose and Joanna Amburgey of
Lexington and several nieces and nephews. Special friends
include; Buster and Jean Prather, all of her friends at the McDonald's on
Stanton Way in Lexington; her special neighbor Danny Fields and her
hairdresser, John Ross. She was preceded in death by two sisters and two
brothers. Visitation will be at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home - Harrodsburg
Road on Monday from 4:00 to 8pm. Funeral services will be at 12:30pm Tue
at the funeral home with Rev. Harold Hunter. Burial will follow at
Lexington Cemetery. Pall Bearers will be Jean-Claude Davet, Jean-Paul
Davet, Chris Hisel, Chad Hammond, Scott Said, and Herman Williams.
