Annette Potter

My name is Annette Potter and I am the daughter of Creed Flannery and Ida Fuller Potter. I was born in the beautiful Eastern Kentucky Mountains in a small town called Fleming-Neon, Kentucky.

My sisters and brothers are Archie, Dan, Ralph, Fred, Washie (died as infant), Creed Flannery (died as infant), Billie Joyce, Clark, Marty, David, and Carlene Potter.

My sister, Billie is married to Charles Jaynes. My sister Carlene is married to Dubby Burkland. All my brothers and sisters were born in the same place in Kentucky.


My Dad Creed and my brothers, Fred, Washie (died as infant) and Creed Flannery (died as infant) Potter have all passed away and are buried in the Reynolds Family Cemetery in Seco, KY. Our other brother, Ralph is buried in McLeansboro, Illinois near his wife, Macy Austin Potter.

My Father was Creed Flannery Potter. He was born 2 September 1902 in Letcher Co., KY. Ida and Creed are my parents. My Father married (1st) to Sarah Rose Robinson. Dad married 2nd to Elizabeth Betty Brown and 3rd to my Mom, Ida Fuller. Click on This Link to see the sons and daughters of Creed and Ida Potter. My Dad Creed resided in McRoberts, Letcher, Ky at the time of his death on 26 January 1959. Dad was the son of Joel "Mart" Potter and Eliza Frances Reynolds. My Dad and all my Grandparents were also born in the same area of Kentucky. My ancestors lived in the same area of Kentucky for generations.

Dad was Secretary of the Hemphill United Mine Workers Association. He was later in the coal hauling business. He operated a taxi cab company with my Mother, his 3rd wife, Ida Fuller in Neon, KY.

My Mom, Ida Fuller Potter is the daughter of Elijah "Green" Fuller and Leona Smith. My Mom and her ancestors were all born in the same area of Kentucky and lived there for generations.

My Mom was a housewife and worked as a nurse after my father passed away. My Dad, Creed was active in the United Mine Workers Association of Letcher County, KY. He was active in politics and was Chief of Police in Fleming, Kentucky. Dad is buried in the Reynolds Cemetery, Seco, Letcher, KY.

My Granny, Dad's Mother, Eliza Francis Reynolds, the daughter of William Henry Reynolds and Matilda Frances Baker, is also buried there near Dad.  Dad's 1st wife Sarah is buried near him in the Reynolds Family Cemetery, as well.
