Rosa "Rosie" Murphy, age 78, of Hamilton passed away at Mercy Hospital, Fairfield on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 1:15 p.m. She was born in Owsley County, Kentucky, on November 14, 1926 the daughter of James and Addie (Noble) Hall.
A homemaker, she loved to cook. Rosie was an avid bluegrass and gospel music fan, collected dolls and enjoyed attending church. Rosie loved everyone and never met a stranger.
On February 1, 1947 in Winchester, Kentucky, she married Earl Clayton Murphy, Sr. She is survived by her husband, Earl Murphy, Sr. of Hamilton who fondly called her Baby; her children, Shirley Bustle and her husband Lawrence of Livingston, Kentucky, Donald ofLiberty Twp., Earl Murphy, Jr. and his companion Kapi Compston of Hamilton, Peggy Hintermeister and her husband Roger of Hamilton, and Rhoda Bond and her husband Karl of Whitehouse, Tennessee; 18 grandchildren, Lonnie "Rufus" Bustle, Rita Bustle, Teresa Bustle, Jennifer Bustle, Jamie Bustle, Jeffrey Burns, Tracie Burns, Earl Burns, Karen Johnson, Sharon Johnson, John Murphy, Erica Murphy, Jay Compston, Krystal Compston, Richard Hintermeister, Brandi Bond, Courtney Bond and Jacob James Bond; 17 great grandchildren: her brother, Sam Hall of Liberty Twp.; and her sister-in-law and best friend, Ruth Hall of Hamilton.
She was precrded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Curtis J. Price, Jr. and 12 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Virgil Bustle and Rev. Richard Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The family extends a heart felt thank you to the third floor staff of Mercy Hospital Fairfield for their care and concern.
