Alpha Blanton
— Alpha Blanton, 87, of Stamper Lane, Waco, died Monday evening, April 2, 2007, in the Richmond Health & Rehabilitation Complex—Madison.
She was born on May 2, 1919, in Jackson County, Ky.; the daughter of the late John and Katie Isaacs Baker. She was a homemaker and a member of the Body of Christ Ministries.
She was the widow of Buddy Blanton, and was preceded in death by one son, Don Blanton; one grandson, Joey Blanton; two brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Blanton is survived by: three sons, Cecil Blanton (Anna) and James Vester Blanton (Edith), both of Richmond, and Earl Blanton (Brenda) of Waldron, Ark.; four daughters, Mary Walton (James) and Kathy Yarber (the late Cline), both of Richmond, Geraldine Biggs (Doug) of Waco, and Ada Taylor (Danny) of Berea; one brother, Vester Baker (Ruby); 22 grandchildren, Wilbur Blanton, Charity Yarber, Cretica Sizemore, Jimmy Blanton, Kenny Deckert, Kellie Horn, Lasha Johnson, Richard Blanton, David Blanton, Sonya Bradley, Kim Harris, Doug Walton, John Walton, Lisa Cambron, James Yarber, Rebecca Yarber, Jennifer Hoogenboom, Jeff Blanton, Kevin Taylor, Sheri Mullikin, Frank Biggs and Carolyn Biggs; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2007, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, 328 West Main Street, Richmond, with Bro. David Hansel officiating. Burial will follow in the family cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Earl Blanton, James Vester Blanton, Cecil Blanton, Doug Walton, Wilbur James Yarber, Jeff Blanton and Jennifer Hoogenboom.
