SMITH, OTIS J. - age 85, of Lenoir City, Tenn., formerly of Barbourvil le, Ky., passed away Mon. evening, Aug. 16, 1999, at his home. Otis wa s retired from ORNL as an inspection engineer. A veteran of World War II, serving with the Army Air Corps. Preceded in death by parents, Ji m and Eunice (Nicey) Smth; sister, Alta Smith; brother, A.J. Smith, Sr . Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Charles Gamble of Fa rmington, Mo., Diane and Charlie Fields of Lewisville, Ind.; several g randchildren; foster sister, Hazel Hubbard and husband, Vernon of Cinc innati, Ohio. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

OTIS J. SMITH, 85, of Lenoir City, Tenn., formerly of Barbourville, pa ssed away Monday, August 16, 1999 at his home. He was the son of the l ate Jim and Eunice Nicey Smith born on July 15, 1914 in Knox County. H e was retired from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory as an inspection engineer. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the Army Air C orp. and the Kentucky National Guard. On July 26, 1939 he united in ma rriage with Lois McBride in Pineville. Graveside services were conduct ed in the Hutchins Cemetery Saturday, August
21 at 11 a.m. Knox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
