Obituary Oma Bentley Coleman:
In loving memory of my Mother, Oma
Bentley Coleman, 84 years of age, of Robinson Creek, Kentucky, passed away
Sunday, March 19, 1995, at the Pikeville Methodist Hospital. Oma was the
daughter of the late Burton and Mellie Rowe Bentley, she was the widow of Fred
Coleman, who preceded her in death, May 16, 1991. she was also preceded in
death by six brothers and three sisters, one being her Twin, Ona Bentley
Coleman of Dorton, Kentucky. Oma is survived by one daughter, Patsy Ruth
Coleman Hall and her husband Brother Glenn Hall. She is also survived by one
grand daughter, Glenda Lavonne and her husband Tom, and two great
grandchildren, Kristi and Keith Ison, all of Pikeville Kentucky. Mother joined
the Elizabeth Old Regular Baptist Church on June 11, 1977, and was baptized by
the hands of Brother Grover and Brother Hiram Adkins. Mother was very active
until six years ago, when she suffered a stroke, leaving her speech impaired.
Mother was blessed to speak a few words, the words most used was, "Thank you
Lord." Mother enjoyed having her brothers and sisters of the church and her
friends visit her, she would rejoice and praise the Lord. Mother's favorite
verse in the Bible was, "When I awake in his likeness I will be satisfied".
Mother endured her afflictions very patiently. Mother's last week in the
hospital, she sang and praised the Lord. We feel her suffering is over and she
is resting under the alter of God, where her speech will no more be affected,
but she will sing and praise God forever. We surely will miss her presence,
but feel our loss is Heaven's gain.
Written by her bereaved family.
