Obituary: VENTERS, Ray, 96, of Shelbyville, Kentucky,
passed away Sunday, August 29, 2004, in Kentucky. He was born December 23, 1907,
to Booker E. and Rhoda (Johnson) Venters, in Millstone, Kentucky. He had been a
resident of Shelbyville, Kentucky since 1997, moving there from Sebring, where
he had resided since 1971. He was self employed as a barber and was commissioned
a Kentucky Colonel on October 12, 1992. He was a member of the United Mine
Workers Union #5809 in Whitesburg, Kentucky, Carpenters Union Local #727 in
Hialeah, Florida; Sheet Metal Workers Union #92437 in Columbus, Ohio; National
Barbers Local Union #523 in Miami, Florida; and a life member of the Grand
Masonic Lodge of Kentucky #754. He is survived by: his daughter, Anita L.
Wilson, Midway, Kentucky; son, J. Keith Venters, Winter Haven, Florida; 9
grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2004, from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at
Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Seb ring. Private entombment will be in the
Chapel Mausoleum in Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery beside his lovely wife
Edna. Arrangements handled by: STEPHENSON-NELSON FUNERAL HOME, SEBRING, FL.
