Obituary: Anna Sue Tucker Bentley 17 Jan 1933 - 13 Apr 2014 Anna Sue Tucker Bentley, age 81, of Jenkins, Kentucky, passed away Sunday April 13, 2014 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center, Hazard, Kentucky. She was born on January 17, 1933 at Letcher County, Kentucky and lived most of her life in Letcher County, Kentucky. Ms. Bentley was well known throughout the community for being the cook at the Sugar Shack and for the delicious donuts that she made. She enjoyed caring for her flowers, spending time with kids and grandkids and she was of the Old Regular Baptist Faith. She was a daughter of the late Otho and Nancy Alice Hall Bentley. She was also preceded in death by a son, Allen Bentley; twelve sisters, Atha Caudill, Sabrina Blair, Wilma Benge, Lake Pass, Cora Mullins, Opal Bentley, May Bentley, Mary Bentley, Lettie Totten, Stella Salyers, Nettie Taylor and Laura Stallard; and five brothers, Otho Bentley, Jr., John Vint Bentley, Jimmy Bentley, Can Bentley and Willie Bentley. Survivors include two sons, Roy Bentley, of Jenkins, Kentucky, and Jerry (Nina) Bentley, of West Liberty, Kentucky; six brothers, Freddie Bentley, of Vandalia, Ohio, Joe Bentley, D.U. Bentley, Jerry Wayne Bentley, all of Millstone, Kentucky, Jimmy Vent and John Vent, both of Ohio; seven grandchildren, Shawn, Barry, Ronald, Morgan, Samuel, Abigail and Arianna; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday April 14, 2014 after 6:00 PM at Carty Funeral Home Polly & Craft Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 15, 2014 at 12:00 PM at Carty Funeral Home Polly & Craft Chapel with Van Webb officiating. Interment will follow at the Sam Bentley Cemetery, Payne Gap, Kentucky. Funeral arrangements being cared for by Carty Funeral Homes, Jenkins, Kentucky.

Roy “Karo” Bentley, age 88, of Payne Gap, Kentucky, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 at the Letcher Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Whitesburg, Kentucky. He was born on November 19, 1929 in Norton, Virginia.
Roy was a son of the late Sam and Maybelle Branham Bentley. He served his country as a United States Air Force veteran. He was a longtime member of the Neon American Legion, Post 104. Roy was well known in the area as an automobile salesman. He was a fan of U.K. basketball and NASCAR.
He is survived by two sons: Roy Bentley II of Payne Gap, Kentucky and Jerry Bentley (Nina) of Port Charlotte, Florida; seven grandchildren: Ronald, Shawn, Barry, Morgan, Sammuel, Abigail and Arianna; fourteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; along with a host of other family and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son: Allen Bentley; one sister: Theda Childers and three brothers: Sammy, Manuel and Charles. Visitation for Mr. Bentley will be held on Thursday July 12, 2018 at Polly & Craft Funeral Home of Jenkins, Kentucky with family viewing at 5:00 PM; Public visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Funeral services for Mr. Bentley will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Van Webb officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sam Bentley Cemetery of Payne Gap, Kentucky.
