Hi Kaie,
I know I don’t have the authority to speak for our cousin, Hazel, but I’m pretty sure she is just fine with your mailing list post.
You don’t have a single thing to apologize for. Your posts in any of our forums are always very impoortant and I know I always enjoy
reading them. There were 4 cousins on the Messenger yesterday together. We had Hazel, Anne, Lisa and me on there just going over this
and that. It was nice to have us all together in one place. We now have a place on the website where you can shoot me an instant
message anytime. It’s at the following link: Instant Message Me.
Hazel and I went over and looked in the LDS sight for some people and as you say, they always offer up information for the person your
searching. They’re a great site and I use it often, too. That is where my family tree software comes from and theirs is free. I like
it better than any of the commercial programs.
It’s always great to hear from you,
Luv you,
Annette

I ran across your website by accident. The references to Letcher Co. caught my eye. Sam Ed Baker is my Father’s cousin, he is listed
as the son of Carl and Zella Mae Potter. My Father was Sampson Dow Baker, always known as Sam Baker. Dad and Sam Ed were very close
growing up and Sam Ed was always called by both names to distinguish him from my Dad. I still keep in touch with Sam Ed, he now lives
in Jackson, Oh. and is in good health.
Nice website, it has evoked some pleasant memories.

Hi Sam,
Can you give me your lineage to add to the site. I tried to find your dad, but couldn’t find Sampson Dow Baker. Also, do you have Carl
Baker’s parents? Would love to add them also. Look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks for your post,
Annette Potter

Hi Annette,
This is my home email if you have any questions.
Sam Ed’s father Carl Baker was my father’s (Sampson Dow Baker) first cousin. His father was Ed Baker and Ed was brother to my
grandfather Solomon Emery Baker and their father (my great) was Lorenzo Dow Baker, he shows up on your links page. He was the son of
Elijah Willis Baker and Mary “Polly” Yonts – I also have Hall as a surname for Mary, not sure why unless she was married to a Hall or
Yonts before she married Elijah. For your info, I have it back to James Baker and Elizabeth Shepard and my names agree with yours.
I have spent a little more time looking and this is an amazing website! I can’t wait to share it with my family.
Have a great day.

Hi Sam,
I found more on the family of Lorenzo Dow Baker and Lou Anza
Isaacs. I also found Solomon Emery “Bud” Baker and Coetta Mullins and
really got lucky and found photos in the “Family Histories of Letcher County” books. I put pics on the pages. I hope you like the
pages. Let me know if there is anything I need to add or correct. Thank you for adding your information. It is always fun to add more
family. We are cousins through the Bakers and Mullins. It is always a real treat to get to add more cousins.
I look forward to adding anything else you want me to add.

My cousin Sam Jr. sent me the picture you have on your site of our grandfather and grandmother, Bud and Coette Baker. In the caption
that was with it I saw his mother listed as Lou Anza Isaacs. On her tombstone that is in our family cemetery in Millstone, KY, her
name is listed as Stella Louisa Isaaacs. I know this because I have seen it and I do have a picture of it, but even more I know it
because I am named after her and my name is Stella Louise. If you have some info about the Anza part of her name that you have listed,
I would love to have that info. Sam sent me the picture and I looked at your website but I only took a quick look. I noticed that one
of you feedbacks says that we are also related via the Mullins side. It is good to meet you. Louise Crist

To any of my cousins that read this, I’m sorry if I missed your name or misspelled it. I’m not very good with names and we have such a
big family it is hard to keep track.
Annette,
Thanks so much for compiling all this information. It is fascinating and I can’t wait to get my mother in front of a computer to look
through the names. She says she remembers lots of Potters.
Have a great day.

and I hope to hear from you again soon and often.

Oops.. My brother, Sam Baker, sent our sibling list, but my name has inadvertently been left off of your list as the firstborn of this
clan of 7. Sam was so excited to share the information from this site with Mom and with the rest of us. You have done an amazing job!
Thanks, Bonnie Jean

My great Grandmother’s name was Stella Louisa. I think I was supposed to be Stella Louisa as well, but somehow the spelling got
changed on the birth certificate, and my parents never corrected it.
I saw the post from Sam about my family and must correct something there as well. My sister Doris was not my father’s biological
child. She was my half sister from my mother’s first marriage. Her father was killed in a mining accident when she was 6 weeks old. My
mother married my father when she was 9 months old, so it doesn’t surprise me that Sam did not know that bit of history. Also, he left
off my baby brother ( the 51 year old man that he is today would chastise me for calling him that), Douglas.
When I have more time, I will send you more info on our Baker family, but just at first glance, it seems that you have most of what I
would have to offer.

Hi!
I just wanted to make one tiny correction: Roxie Mollett’s second husband was named John Crum.
I loved this page. It’s helped me a lot in my search!
Thanks.

Hi Debby and Everyone,
Thank you, Debby for your comment and for your correction. It is greatly appreciated. So glad you like the site.
To Hazel, Anne and all our family and friends; It looks like we are very likely going to get our portion of the hurricane, so keep us
in your prayers. It is also a possibility that some of us won’t be able to access the internet for a time, but that is something about
which we will have to wait and see. When we’ve had hurricane force winds in the past, we have lost electricity here in this area and
some areas were without electricity for days; some areas were without power for weeks. This one has been so unpredictable that we
really couldn’t know what it was going to do, but now the weather reports say it is going to come ashore sometime Saturday morning and
they are predicting Freeport for landfall. We are just now finding out that no matter where it comes ashore, it is going to affect us
here in the Houston and Pasadena Texas areas. I’m hoping this thing will somehow lose power and won’t be so destructive.
If things change or there are any updates, I will let you know. We can’t evacuate from our area right now because the folks who live
in the cities closest to the water are evacuating first. Then if we need to go, we will leave after the roads clear of those evacuees.
We don’t have any shelters for the evacuees; they are asking that those who leave the coast to pass through houston to other areas.
Will let you know more when I hear more.

Hi Hazel, Anne and Everyone,
Just leaving you a message to let you know that I am fine. It is about 8:15 pm Houston time and thought you might want to know our
status. We are all doing fine and haven’t drowned so far. We obviously still have electricity. It’s a little on the windy side, but
other than that, we have no real indication of a category 2 hurricane where we are, yet. Our political leaders have warned us that we
may be without power during and after the hurricane which should be upon us during this night and tomorrow. We have been advised where
it is believed flooding will take place and most of us with good sense have evacuated those areas which are now under water in varying
degrees from the storm surge.
I’ll leave you messages if I can, but if we lose power, I won’t be able to leave you a message until the power is back on.
Luv you,
Annette

Hello Hazel,
Thank you so much for keeping us informed on Annette’s well being, I have been wondering if she finally decided to get evacuate. I had
to be out of town for the weekend and just got back in late last night, I have had Annette on my mind and in my prayers and was
concerned about her being alone going Thur this. I am so glad she decided to go to her brother’s house.
Hazel you are such a wonderful friend and cousin, thank you again for keeping us upto date on Annette and the others that have been
through this terrible disaster. We are praying that not only did they come out without injury but also that their homes are safe and
that they will be able to return as soon as possible. Love and Prayers to All

Hi cousins!
Annette went home today. we got electricity late tonight. thank you all for your prayers. i know that is why everyone is okay.
actually, it has brought family together. neighbors are helping one another. kids are playing outside. God gave us cool dry weather. i
have been through several really bad hurricanes and never was it cool and clear afterwards. Annette should have electricity this week.
She lives close to oil refineries and they will be starting back up soon. Everyone has wind damage. Everyone has trees down. Alot have
floods. Many can not go back to their home yet. We have been able to share our generator with neighbors. Clark and the rest of the
potter men (Creed, Lil Creed, Cody, etc) have been busy using their chain saws all day long. I have cooked for so many with Annette
helping. Good thing i store food. their is nothing open yet. we drive 20 miles to wait 6 hours to buy gas for the generators. you
better belive that i am buying a geneartor that runs off 3 different fuels. everyone is b-b-q ing and feeding the block. my neighbors
cleaned my yard today. another got 40 lbs of ice to share. we have plenty of drinking water stored! Yeah! Annette had a tree fall
between her home and another. It missed her house. The home behind her had the roof blown of. Judy potter (has a beautiful huge log
home) had 4 ceiling leaks and lots of tree damage. David Potter just moved to a new home out near Humble. He had bunches of trees with
no electric nor phones. it took us until yesterday to find out they were okay. We are all well and fine. We have been blessed. The
hurricane has taught us to be kinder, gentler and friendlier people. I had a ton of blue berries in my freezer. i have made blueberry
sheet cakes for a week. YUK! I had lots of #10 cans of food. We have had green beans, pinto beans, black eye peas, corn of cob, etc. i
had forgotten how to cook in a dutch oven. my first peach cobbler was not ediable but the men at it and loved it. the women get in the
gas lines all day. annette has taken tons of pics to post. she has been so upset because she has no computer. you know we all miss
this things. Again, thank each of you for your love and prayers. They did not go unheeded by Heavenly Father. We are safe because of
those prayers. God Bless each of you. Love ya, Kaie

Hi Everyone,
From Annette Potter: I’m back online for I don’t know how long, but we
just got electricity here where I live (Pasadena, Texas) at about 10:30 A.M. 18 September, 2008. I’m hoping it will stay up and going.
When I got home, it was Sunday night 14 September, 2008 and I had no electricity in my place. I spent a couple of nights at Kaie’s
house (Kaie is my sister in law – wife of my brother, Clark Potter) and we
had a pretty good time except for the first night of the hurricane when the lights went out at their house. Clark and Kaie had a
generator and they got it going, so they had a refrigerator, lamp and fans going. They had trees down all around their house. They
lost their pool, fence, a big tree fell on their shed and they lost their motor home from damage to its roof and windows. The water
got up to the curb, but it didn’t get in the yard or the house that we know of.
When I got home on Sunday night, I lit some candles I had on site, threw away all the gross food in the fridge and fought ants for a
couple of days until I was able to get to one of the few open stores to buy some more candles and ant spray. I had no damage to my
building, but the roof blew off the house behind me and was in my yard. Our damage was mostly downed trees, electric and phone poles.
As of today, Thursday, 18 September, 2008, I now have electricity and can catch up on all the hurricane news. Most of the big trees
and downed poles have been cleaned up around our complex. We had a nice cool front come through right after my arrival home, so even
though I had no electricity for a few days, it has been very easy for me to manage through this one. Hope to add some pics when I get
them from Kaie. Will update if anything else new.
Luv to all,
Annette
