Leona Carlene Potter b 1950 d/o Creed Flannery Potter and Ida Fuller Potter. She is named for our Grandmother, Leona Smith Fuller Potter.

As all of our brothers and sisters, Carlene was born in Letcher Co KY. Carlene Attended McRoberts lower school, McRoberts  upper school, and O'Neida School in Oneida, Kentucky.  Visit Carlene's Photo Gallery.

Carlene met and married Jake Walton Burkland, the son of Carl Roland Clifford Burkland and Marjorie Lorraine Willhite. Carlene is a retired postal worker. Jake is a procurer for TASC in Houston, TX. Carlene and Dubby have 3 sons, Mark, Steven and David Burkland Children of Carlene and Jake Burkland;

 Mark William Burkland graduated university at U of H. Mark married 1st to Christin Forehand and 2nd to current wife, Tracy Walls. Christin and Mark have one son;

 Steven Burkland joined the US Marine Corps and served his country in the war on terror. Steven is now at home and safe for which we are grateful.  We are also grateful for our military giving up their comfort and safety to go to Iraq and fight the terrorists so that we don't have to face them here at home. God Bless our soldiers and keep them safe and grant them victory over the enemy.

Steven met and married Kristen Keith in San Diego, California. Kristen is the daughter of Bill and Jo Keith. Steven and Kristen have one son, Dillon Burkland who was born this year (2005). Child of Steven and Kristen Burkland;

 David Aaron Burkland is Carlene and Dub's youngest. David attends the University of Houston, TX. He is a very good student and dedicated to his studies. We are all very proud of David. Congratulations, David!!
