Note From Annette: In the old days, many illnesses could get you into Eastern State Hospital in Lexington, Fayette Co KY. A stroke, dementia, depression, or just anything that couldn't be treated with conventional medicine which was greatly limited in those days. The following is from this link: Source of the Following:
In later life John developed what would now probably be diagnosed as Alzheimer's disease. He as admitted to Eastern State Mental hospital in the early fall of 1929. Less than a month later, on September 25, 1929 John died. He was buried on the grounds of Eastern State Hospital but no record remains of the exact location."

When I asked why wasn't JOHN buried in the Cornett Family Cemetery at Christopher, my mother said she was told this story; "John was supposed to have gotten a severe case of poison ivy and the intense itching of it drove him crazy". Whatever happened to John, he was taken to Lexington to the Eastern State Mental Hospital and he died there. The family had no money to bring him back and he was buried in the cemetery on the hospital grounds. No record of when he died has been found. He died between the 1880 and 1900 census. He has no marked grave in Lexington.
