Alka Mae Elkins Mullins
Alka Mae Elkins Mullins, age 89 passed away Tuesday, June 21st, 2011 at the Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center. Alka was born on April 10, 1922 to her parents the late Johnny Elkins and Minnie Dale Elkins. She was the wife of the late Chester Mullins, a homemaker, and a member of the Energyville Freewill Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Alka was preceded in death by one son, Charles W. Mullins, one granddaughter, Angela Mullins, four brothers, Oscar Elkins, Aster Elkins, Ted Greer, and Foster Elkins, four sisters, Maxie Johnson, Bondie Addington, Susie Johnson, Leona Osborne. Alka is survived by one son, Cal L. (Trish) Mullins of Pikeville, Ky., one sister, Charlsie Johnson, two grandchildren, Steve Mullins, Christopher Mullins, three great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Energyville Freewill Baptist Church. Church services will be Wednesday and Thursday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Friday at 11a.m. at the Energyville Freewill Baptist Church with David Bentley officiating. The burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park.

Charlsie Elkins Johnson, age 86, of Frenchburg, KY. previously of Beefhide, KY passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015. She and her later husband Rubin Johnson were married 62 years. She was born in Pike County on May 2, 1928, to the late Johnie and Minnie Dale Elkins. Charlsie is also proceded in death by her four brothers, Ted Greer, Aster Elkins, Oscar Elkins and Foster Elkins, five sisters, Leona Osborne, Susie Johnson, Alka Mullins, Bondie Addington and Maxie Johnson, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She leaves behind two sons, Rodney (Janice) Johnson of Frenchburg, KY, Jerry (Teresa) Johnson of Alger, MI, nine daughters, Jill (Ronnie) Wright of Dorton, KY, Jenny (Randall) Wright of Frenchburg, KY, Karen (Alfred) Bryant of Elkhorn Creek, KY, Sandy (Mike) Newsom of Caney KY, Rhedia Carol (Ronnie) Elkins of Georgetown, KY, Lea (Eddie) Cantrell of Elkhorn Creek, KY, Lana (Kenny) Ison of Gallipolis, OH, Deb (Roy) Flincher of Elizabethtown, KY, Donna Kay (Jim Meadors) Wright of Jenkins, Ky, thirty-one grandchildren, fifty-two great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends who will miss her and who loved her dearly. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2015, after 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 12 Noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Leon Tackett, Alton Norman and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park. Special services will be held on Sunday night at 7 p.m.
