Nathanial Venable Wilson, though married to Elizabeth Ruffner at the time and having 8 children by her, left home and boarded with Celia Elswick White wife of Ballard Preston White and Ballards 2 children Natanaial V. White and James Preston White. Nathanial V. Wilson built a relationship with Celia and that resulted in the formation of a large family consisting of four boys and four girls. The children of this union were given the surnames of "White". This decision was probably made to distinguish the second set of the children of Nathaniel Wilson from his children with Elizabeth Ruffner Wilson, his wife. Elizabeth Ruffner Wilson would not divorce Nathanial. Elizabeth died Feb. 9 1892 . She was buried in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Kanawha Co. Charleston WV. Nathaniel died 1905 and was buried by Elizabeth in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Celia and Nathanial were married 12-25-1892 after the death of Nathanial first wife.
