Martha J Hall was known in the area as both an herbalist and an excellent mid-wife. She delivered many of the children in Virgie in the late 1890's and early 1900's. 9. Joe Fleming b 1905 KY d 1954 KY; killed under mysterious circumstances. He was found, along with a close friend, both dead and both with guns in their hands. It was ruled a double murder; but the guns in their hands where the guns that they had been shot with. Joe was known to always have cash money in his possession. When he was found, neither he nor his friend had any money on them at all.

10. Philip Fleming b 11 Jul 1909 Virgie, KY d 2 Oct 1920 Virgie, KY; Phillip died of natural causes - thought to have been flu or pneumonia. He was not quite 12 years old when he died. He was Nannie's favorite - she called him "Little Phillip".

11. Edgar Fleming b 1914 Pike Co KY d 1946 Pike Co KY; killed by a jealous husband - a shoe cobbler - whom he embarrassed by bragging about the affair with his wife.
