Betsy Potter Krause
28 Jun 1948 - 5 May 2020
Betsy Krause, 71, died May 5 at her home in Schaumburg, Ill. Born in Jackhorn to the late Victor and Myrtle Potter, she was a sister of the late Louise Newman and Patricia Medlock. For the last 10 years, she bravely fought breast cancer. She was a member in Church of Christ in Schaumburg, Ill. Her favorite activities included traveling, cooking, yard work, gardening, spending time with family, and giving back to the communities.

Mrs. Krause loved the beauty in flowers and had an extraordinary green thumb. She always gave from the heart and never expected anything in return. She always spoke her mind and her family knew where they stood at all times. She loved to laugh and bring smiles to those near her. She was a "social butterfly" and made friends with everyone she met and would have a lasting impression on them.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date in Schaumburg, Ill., and the final resting place will be in Jackhorn (Letcher Co KY) at the Potter family cemetery.

Surviving are her husband, Charles Krause; a daughter, Kimberly Findlay and husband Michael of Brentwood, Calif.; a grandson, Tyler Findlay of Schaumburg, Ill.; two sisters, Victoria "Sissy" Potter of Jackhorn, and Patsy Watts, her twin sister of Bean Station, Tenn.; and a brother, Paul Potter and wife Sonja of Jackhorn.

"When you see a flower blooming there is a smile from Betsy in Heaven."

Thanks to Hazel Potter Thompson information and photos of this family.
