Obituary: Mullins, Roy -
81, formerly of Knott County, husband of Dixie Lee Mullins, died Monday, March
27, 2006, at the Hospice Care Center. Born in Amburgey, Ky., he was the son of
the late Leander and Allie Gibson Mullins. Mr. Mullins was a Union College
graduate, a U.S. Army World War II veteran, a German prisoner of war. He was
retired from Kentucky state government, where he had been a director of the
Department of Surface Mining, Reclamation and Enforcement. He was a former
Vice President of Arch Mineral, a Knott County Court Clerk for 12 years, and a
principal and teacher in the Perry County school system. Mr. Mullins attended
Southland Christian Church. Survivors other than his wife include two
daughters, Lanine Little, Lexington, Lana (Charles) Cornett, Hindman, Ky.; a
sister, Ruby Faye Mullins, Amburgey, Ky.; a stepdaughter, Lisa (Robert) Tudor,
Frankfort, Ky.; a stepson, Mark (Kelley) Cheatham, Danville, Ky.; nine
grandchildren, Michael Little, Jr., Emily (Jeff) Frohlich, Debbie (Heath)
Todd, Michelle (Jeff) Fugate, Chad (Mary) Cornett, Jeanne Faye Mullins,
Stephanie (Jeremy) Gibbons, and Jason Mullins; 11 great-grandchildren; a
special niece; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Rickie Neal
Mullins; and a sister, Audrey Mae Terry. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m.
on Friday at Hindman Funeral Services, Hindman, Ky., with Pastor Jeff Fugate
presiding. Burial followed in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Jeff, Ky. Grandsons
and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation was held Wednesday
at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home. Funeral services were conducted Friday March
31, at 10 a.m., at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel, Hindman, Kentucky,
with Jeff Fugate officiating. Burial followed in the Rest Haven Cemetery,
Jeff, Kentucky, under the direction of Hindman Funeral Services.

Obituary of
Gladys Coghill, age 76, of Amburgey, passed away December 2, 2007 at the
Hazard ARMC. She was born in Amburgey on September 15, 1931 to Jasper Mullins
and Sylvia Gibson Mullins. She was preceded in death by her husband: Lonnie
Coghill. She is survived by her 3 children: Charles (Teresa) Barker, Danny
(Doris) Coghill and Melissa (Roy) Williams; 1 sister: Jewell Freeman; 7
grandchildren: Todd, Michelle, Whitney, Brandon, Bryan, Brittney and Kateisha;
4 great grandchildren: Emily, Lathan, Lucas and Beau. Funeral services were
held at 1 p.m., Thursday, December 6, 2007 at the Hindman Funeral Services
chapel with Don Pratt, Howard Owens and Elwood Cornett officiating. Burial
followed at the Jasper Mullins Cemetery at Amburgey, Kentucky.
