I am Margaret Combs Hensley's greatgrandson. I don't believe your info about her is entirely correct.
Although the marriage certificate of
Harve Hensley and Margaret Combs says
the bride's name was Jesse, Jesse was not a common woman's name in Perry co in 1895.
I believe Jesse was a witness and Margaret's brother - not the bride. Remember most of them could not read. Also 1873 does not match Margaret's birthdate in later censuses, that show how many years that she was married and her age.I believe Margaret was the daughter of Milton Combs and Polly Ann Sizemore- the birthdate matches better,
Also Margaret & Harve had 7 more children Roscoe, Dema, Crusoe, Melda,
John Doc, and Homer. I knew all of them. Perry County geneologist JD Downard speculated to me many years ago
that Margaret and Harvey's first wife Lydia Combs were sisters. Lydia's grandson Harve said definitely not.
Then JP speculated that Margaret was
Nick and Annie Williams daughter. The birth dates don't work. Margaret and Harve's daughter Opsie (my grandmother) had a son named Jesse born in 1921 and a daughter named Margaret ( my mother) in 1924. It is not likely that she would have named her son Jesse after her mother. I believe Jesse Combs on the marriage certificate was Opsie's uncle.

While listing the children of Enoch Potter and Josephine Bentley we noticed Susannah P. Potter as a daughter and also at the end a Pearl Potter. This is the same person. There is another boy. Elmon Grady Potter. These two were half brother and sister to the rest of the children. Their mother was Emma Clark, his first marriage. I am enjoying your website. Thanks for taking the time to do all the work I know that is involved.

My maternal grandparents are Columbus and Essie Turner. Papaw's name was Columbus Swinfield Turner..not Winfield. Great to see your page

My dad's family lived in McRoberts before WWII. My grandfather was George Washington Atwood, and my dad was Thomas Lewis Atwood. My dad passed away 15 years ago, but I wish I had been smart enough to record all of his stories he told me about growing up in McRoberts. I know he worked for Mr. Polly as a soda jerk when he was young. We went back to reunions 30+ years ago, and in 1976, I remember dancing "The Charleston" with Gussie Fuller (I think that was her name). I would love to hear from anyone who might remember my family.

It's been a while since I've written Annette so I wanted to thank you once again for this website, your time and energy in developing it, and for doing my personal lineage!! I loved my mom and dad Martha Strange-Potter and Jimmie Martin Potter so very much and feel blessed to be part of them and these ancestors!!!!

Was looking through this site. found my g-grandparents, Isaac Nelson Cantrell and Dora Kelly were my moms grandparents. GG-grandparents Isaac Cantrell and Artie Sanders Cantrell. And many others, I wish this info. could be more updated.

was looking at a page that looks like my family is on but the children should be william curtis caudill and Mary susan hyden children there should be Raleigh not sure how he spelt his name Mavis caudill was my mom
