87. Amos Madison Hensley

(Research):
I have some information regarding Amos Madison
Hensley. He's buried in Green Mountain Cemetery, in
the Pisgah National Forest near Marion, McDowell County, North Carolina. Both he and his wife's stones
are broken in half and have been cemented back
together. He died Dec 17, 1861, as there is a
document dated Jan 16, 1862, in which his adult
children forego their inheritance until their mother
dies.

His tombstone reads:

His wife, Lourany Biggerstaff Henslee's tombstone

At Rest

68. William Allison "Black Bill" Hensley

Dear Distant "Hensley" Relative:

My name is Beth Bradford-Pytel and I am a direct descendant of WilliamAllison "Black Bill" Hensley, born September 18, 1798 in Buncombe County,North Carolina. For your enjoyment and records, I have attached a scanned photograph of"Black Bill's" tombstone that I took personally in 2001 during my visiton Spivey Mountain where many Hensley relative still live. Text islocated on the photo itself to explain the picture and the location ofthe graveyard if you would like to see it personally. There are roughly50 other historical graves at this graveyard which are Hensley familymembers.

As part of my research, I am very interested in collaborating familyinformation with you. To help substantiate how I am related to BlackBill and his forefathers which apparently lead back to "Hensley" Norfolk,England (information obtained from other family trees off the Internetin collaboration with my relative's testimonies) here is my the bloodline in a nut shell:

I am very interested in having dialog with you on how you were able toobtain information with regard to William Hensley's travels from Englandin 1622-23 with his son James Hensley Sr. and wife Mary which I have noinformation on? Also, does anyone really know how Black Bill WilliamAllison Hensley received his dubious title?
