A memorial service for Delores Evelyn Webb Haynes will be held January 26, 2008 in Mt. Sterling, KY. A daughter of the late Henry M. Webb Sr. and Elizabeth "Nannie" Hughes Webb, she was born in Letcher County, KY. She died January 19, 2008. She was a sister of the late Carlos Webb, Howard Webb, Doward Webb, Arlie Webb, and Henry M. Webb Jr. Mrs. Haynes attended the University of Kentucky, George Peabody College of Vanderbilt University, and Transylvania University. She worked in the Office of Research in the Arlington (Va.) County Public Schools, and was secretary to the principal at Bryan Station High School in Lexington and George Wythe High School in Virginia, to the president and chancellor at the University of Richmond (Va.), and to the pastor of Green Memorial Methodist Church in Roanoke, Va. She was also a reporter for the Henry County Local. She served as co-chairman of Keep Fredericksburg Clean when the organization won a national award. She was honored by the Fredericksburg mayor and city council for Meritorious Achievements. Mrs. Haynes was president of the Campbellsburg Woman's Club, a board member of the Presbyterian Post Medical Services and Montgomery County Education Foundation, and president of the Montgomery County Council for the Arts. She was a Rotary Club Paul Harris Fellow and was named a Duchess of Hazard, Ky. She attended the Ascension Episcopal Church and the First Church of God. Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Dr. Robert C. Haynes Sr., Mt. Sterling; a son, Robert C. Haynes Jr., Goshen; a daughter, Susan Frances Haynes, Lexington, KY; a brother, Ret. Air Force Col. Vernard Webb, Charlottesville, Va.; four sisters, Cora Sue Richardson and Audry June Kincer, both of Jenkins, KY; Louise Minor, Bardstown, KY; and Monell Caudill, Grand Blanc, Mich.; four grandchildren, Rebekah Haynes Downing, Clayton Todd Haynes, Courtney Leigh Bache, and William Kendall Bache; two great-grandchildren, Samantha Downing and Ryan Downing; and a daughter in-law, Debby Hamm Haynes, Goshen.
