Source: Tom Rudder information provided 1996, indicates that GeorgeL.Jessee, son of David, is born 1835, as he is living with his fatherandhis age is indicated as 15 in the 1850 Russell Co. Census. Thiswouldmake this marriage to Eliza and age of children improbable.
Problem: This George Lea Jessee, son of David, may be confusedwithanother George Lee Jessee, Jr. born abt 1827, who moved to CarterCo. KYaft 1850. See RIN 18687, the alleged son of George L. JesseeSr.,(1798-1882).
My original information showed all the latter children of thisGeorgeL. Jessee born in Lee, Co. VA, which is contradictory to theinformationI have recorded here. I have made the assumption thatthese are one andthe same, and that all the latter children were bornin Carter Co. KY.

Some of the family spelltheir nameJessie. Dad went into the army in 1917 and they put on hisrecords,Mason Jessee, and he used that spelling for the rest of hislife. Myparents moved to IN in 1943. There wasn't any jobs exceptmostly miningwhere we lived in KY. We came to New Castle to findjobs.

3) a copy of the George L. Jessee (1798-1882) will, and settlement ofhisestate. Tom suggests that since George L. Jessee (1798-1882) signedhiswill George L. Jessee Sr., this implies there is a George L. JesseeJr.,who would be his son. There is no other evidence that George L.Jesseehad a son George L. Jr, born in 1827, most notabley this is notrecordedin the authoritive source of information on this family, "JohnCounts ofGlade Hollow," by. E. J.
