Alma Johnson, 80, of Kite, died Saturday, August 1, 2009, at the McDowell ARH. Born April 29, 1929, in Hall, she was the daughter of the late Francis Marion and Leanner Burke Johnson. She was a homemaker. She was never married. Survivors include a brother, Ivan S. Johnson of Kite; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: El, Curt, Joe, Has, Britt, Will, and Harvey Johnson; and Essie Hager. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 5, at 11 a.m., at the residence on Arnold Fork, Kite, with ministers of the Old Regular Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Ben Hall Cemetery, Arnold Fork, Kite. Visitation is Monday, after 4 p.m., at the residence, and before services on Wednesday, with 7 p.m. services nightly. Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, is in charge of arrangements.
