Marie Belcher age 88 passed away Tuesday, Nov. 25th, 2008 at her home. Marie was born on July 20, 1920 to her parents the late Silas Johnson and Mary Johnson. She was the wife of the late Ira Belcher, a retired school teacher for the Pike County Board of Education, and a member of the Church of Christ. Along with her husband and parents, Marie was preceded in death by two sisters, Clara and Delphia Johnson, by one brother, Cecil Johnson, and several half-brothers and sisters. Marie is survived by one son, David (Diana) Belcher of Dorton, Ky., one daughter, Kathy Wexler of Kingsport, Tn., one sister, Geneva Johnson of Atlanta, Ga., six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two special caretakers, Lena Kilgore and Glema Fleming, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday 11-28-2008 at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Johnny King officiating. The burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park.
