Obituary of Silas Johnson: Silas Johnson, son of the late Jerry and Susie (Hall) Johnson was born in Pike County, Kentucky July 13, 1940. He entered eternal life Sunday,
February 23, 2003 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky, being 62 years, 7 months and 10 days of age at the time of
his passing. Silas was married to Amanda Johnson February 5, 1959.
He had been a coal truck driver and gave his life over to the Lord February 23, 2003. He is survived by his wife Amanda Johnson of Jackhorn, Kentucky; three sons: Silas "June Bug" Johnson, Jr. of Jackhorn, Ky., Lester Johnson of
Cynthiana, Kentucky, Chester Johnson of McRoberts, Kentucky; one daughter: Janet Houston of Jackhorn, Kentucky; eight sisters: Viola Seals and
Minerva Smith, both of Ermine, Ky.; Christine Isaac of Jackhorn, Kentucky; Imogene Patton of Weeksbury, Kentucky; Ruby Boggs of Millstone, Kentucky;
Carrie Baker of Thornton, Kentucky; Wanda Damron and Fayetta Hall, both of Loraine, Ohio.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Jamie, Brian, Bruce, Samantha, Andy, Whitney, Paige and Corey along with a host of other relatives and
friends to mourn his passing. Silas was preceded in death by four brothers; Verlis Johnson, William Junior Fleming, Harold Fleming and Fred Fleming.
Funeral Service For Silas Johnson was conducted from the Everidge Funeral Home Chapel Whitesburg, Kentucky on Thursday, February 27, 2003 at
1:00 o'clock p.m. Officiating Ministers: Ray Goode and Van Webb. Active Pallbearers: Family and Friends. Burial followed in the Johnson Cemetery,
Jackhorn, Kentucky. Everidge Funeral Home, Whitesburg, Kentucky in charge of arrangements.
