CLINCHPORT, Va. - Dora Bishop, 89, Clinchport, Va., died at Lynchburg
Hospital at 6:30 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 15, 1987).
A lifelong resident of Scott County,she was a member of Clinchport
Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hansford Bishop, April 1,
1966 and her parents, John and LizaMiller.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Maude Gillenwater, Gate City, Va.
and Mrs. Virginia Frazier, Kingsport; two sons, Kenneth Bishop, Gate
City, Va. and Dewey Bishop, Clinchport, Va.; 19 grandchildren; 26
great-grandchildren; one sister, Dona Arnold, Church Hill.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Gene Falin Memorial
Chapel of Gate City Funeral Home with the Rev. R.B. Stallard
officiating.

MOUNT CARMEL - Harry C. Moore, 92, passed away Tuesday (March 19,
2002) at Brookhaven Health Care.
Born in Scott County, Va., (Waycross), he had been a lifelong resident
of the Church Hill area. He wasretired from the yarn department in
the Eastman Company after over 40 yearsof service.
He attended Morning Star Freewill Baptist Church. He was a memberof
the Masonic Lodge of Church Hill and received his 50th year pin in
2000.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Pearl Snapp Moore; his
parents, Charlie H. and Elsie Davis Moore; two sisters, Myrtle Moore
and Annie Mae Moore; three brothers, Willie Moore, Kelly Moore and
Dave Moore.
Surviving are his son, H. Melvin "Pete" Moore and wife Patsy Fugate
Moore of Church Hill;three sisters, Mrs. R.V. (Ethel) Thacker of
Mount Carmel, Mrs. Elmer (Mary)Carter and Mrs. Junior (Pearl)
Thacker, both of Kingsport; two brothers, Blaine Moore and Frank
Moore, both of Church Hill; several nieces and nephews; and two
special friends, Bill and Margaret Livesay of Church Hill.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Carter-Trent Funeral
Home, downtown Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel
with the Rev. Jerry Anderson officiating. The eulogy will be given by
the Rev.Bryan Moore. Music will be provided by The Livesay Family.
Graveside serviceswill be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Oak Hill
Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral
home at 10 a.m.
Pallbearers will be JamesThacker, Leonard Moore, Ralph Moore, Jim
Moore, Elton Moore and Dwayne Bowen.

Mrs. Ethel M.Thacker will celebrate her 90th birthday April 5, 2004,
at home with her husband, with whom she just celebrated 68 years of
marriage.He is also 90.
She is the mother of Grace, of Kingsport, and was a wonderful
mother-in-law to Grace's late husband, Johnny L Thacker. Three sons
also call her mom, James E. Thacker of Kingsport, and daughter-in-law
Frances, DenverC. Thacker of Church Hill, daughter-in-Iaw Beverly,
and Herbert L Thacker ofNewport, and daughter-in-law Sandy. She is
the loving grandmother of Libby Tunstill, Brent Thacker, Jeffrey L.
Thacker, Jennifer T. Horne, Chad Thacker,Christel Elsea, and
Christopher Thacker. She is also honored to have five
great-grandchildren, Joshua and Nicole Thacker, Kevin T. Horne, Joshua
Elesa,and Caitlyn Tunstill.
At her request, no party was planned, but she would be delighted to

CHURCH HILL - Blaine W. (Pappaw B) Moore, 86, went to be with his
heavenly father and meet his loving wife of 53 years Friday night
(Nov. 8, 2002) at Indian Path Medical Center following a brief
illness.
He was a lifelong resident of Church Hill. Mr. Moore served in the
U.S. Army during World War II. He had retired from the Tennessee
EastmanCompany with over 30 years of service.
Mr. Moore was a member of Morning StarFreewill Baptist Church where
he had accepted Christ as his personal saviorand was baptized at an
early age.
Blaine W. Moore was an avid UT fan, lovingall sports of the
university. Also, he loved to watch NASCAR with Mark Martin being his
favorite driver.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah M.Moore; his parents,
Charles H. and Elsie Davis Moore; two sisters, Myrtle Moore and Annie
Mae Moore; four brothers, Willie Moore, Kelly Moore, Dave Mooreand
Harry Moore.
Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph E.and Judy
Moore, Kingsport, Leonard B. Moore, Church Hill, Jerry L. and Debbie
Moore, Mount Carmel, Benny G. and Sally Moore, Gary W. and Kathy
Moore, both of Church Hill; seven grandchildren, Christina Ketterman,
Johnny B. Moore, Aimee K. Moore, Jessica Moore, Jeffrey Moore, Justin
Moore and Benny (Cooter) Moore; four great-grandchildren, Ashley
Poore, Tristin Ketterman, Faith Ketterman and Alyssa Moore; three
sisters, Mrs. Mary Carter, Mrs. Pearl Thacker, both of Kingsport, and
Mrs. R.V. (Ethel) Thacker, Church Hill; brother andsisters-in-law,

KINGSPORT - Pearl Ruth Moore Thacker, 81, formerly of East Center
Street, went to be with the Lord at 9:03 a.m. Tuesday (May 20, 2003)
at Indian Path Medical Center after a brief illness.
She had been a resident of Sunbridge Hillside Nursing Home for the
past 18 months. Shewas born in Hawkins County (May 27, 1921) and had
resided in Kingsport since1942.
She had regularly attended Lynn Garden Evangelical Methodist Church
for several years until declining health. She was a devoted mother and
grandmother. She was a special and generous person to all who knew
her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harmon Junior Thacker
(1952); her parents, Charlie and Elsie Davis Moore; sisters, Myrtle
Moore and Annie Mae Moore; brothers, Willie Moore, Kelly Moore, Dave
Moore, Harry Moore, Blaine Moore and Frank Moore.
Surviving are her daughters, Pat Bowen and husband Dewayne, Kingsport,
Harmalene Thacker, Kingsport; grandson, Michael Bowen, Gainesville,
Fla.;sisters, Mrs. Ethel Thacker and husband R.V., Church Hill, and
Mrs. Mary Carter, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m.today at Carter-Trent Funeral Home,
downtown Kingsport. Friends may also call anytime at the daughter's
residence, 1400 Bridwell St., Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel

CHURCH HILL - Frank Moore, 77, 637 MorningStar Road, went to be with
the Lord Monday evening (April 14, 2003) at Holston Valley Medical
Center after a brief illness.
He was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and retired from the AFG
in Kingsport. He loved to farm.
Hewas a member of the Clay Masonic Lodge #386 and also belonged to
the Order of the Eastern Star Fairview #80. He was a member of the
Carters Valley Volunteer Ruritan.
Mr. Moore was a member of Morning Star Freewill Baptist Church where
he served as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlieand Elsie Davis
Moore; sisters, Myrtle Moore and Annie Mae Moore; brothers, Willie
Moore, Kelly Moore, Dave Moore, Harry Moore and Blaine W. Moore.
Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Jessie Caldwell Moore;
daughter, KathyAsh and husband Brian, Mount Carmel; son, David Moore
and wife Lisa, Mount Carmel; granddaughter, April Chapman, Church
Hill; sisters, Mrs. Mary Carter, Mrs. Pearl Thacker, Mrs. Ethel
Thacker and husband R.V.; special longtime friend, Bill Livesay and
wife Margaret and their children, Pam, Robin and Rusty and their
family; along with several nieces and nephews.

service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10 a.m. to go in
procession.
