KINGSPORT - Donald D. "Don" Hayes, 68, of 1632Carters Valley Road,
Surgoinsville, passed away Saturday (Sept. 21, 2002) atHolston Valley
Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Hayes was born in Jewel Ridge, Va. He retired from the U.S. Air
Force and was a lifetime member of the VFW. He was a charter member of
the Bloomingdale Fire Dept., and the manager of the Johnson City Yacht
Club.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Velva Hayes;
one brother, Kenneth "Red" Hayes.
Surviving are his wife, Beulah Hayes, of the home; two daughters, Lisa
Hutson and husband Richard, Kingsport, and Shelia Evans and husband
Danny, Church Hill; twosons, Mark Hayes and wife Marna, Colorado
Springs, Colo., and David "Ted" Hayes and wife Kimberly, Johnson City;
seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sister, Jacqueline
Wilson, Sarasota, Fla.; brother, Mason Hayes, Johnson City; several
nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Funeral
Home.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home
chapel.
Military graveside services will be at 11 a.m.Wednesday in the Oak
Hill Cemetery with Charles DeWitt Byrd VFW Post No. 3382 of Kingsport
in charge. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.
KINGSPORT Darrence K. Hyder, 67, 3738 Cheekwood Drive, died Sunday
morning (Oct. 31, 1999) at Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center
unexpectedly.Hewas born in Hampton, Tenn., and had resided in
Kingsport most of his life. Mr. Hyder had been an agent and manager
for American General Life Insurance Co.He was a Mason and of the
Baptist faith.He was preceded in death by his father, Daunt Hyder;
brothers, Ben Hyder and Daunt Hyder Jr.; and sisters, CoraleeHyder
and Fern Lambert.Surviving are his wife, Ruth Hyder; daughters, Jonie
Garrick, Kingsport and Melessa Cantey, Blountville; son, Craig Hyder,
Atlanta, Ga.; mother, Lucyle Hyder, Mt. Morris, Mich.; stepdaughter,
Lisa Hutson,Kingsport; stepsons, Mark Hayes, Monument, Colo., and
David Hayes, Jonesborough; sisters, Irene Morrell, Concord, Va., Jean
Carroll, Augusta, S.C.; brothers, Bill Hyder, Elizabethton, Allen
Hyder, Kyle Hyder, Dan Hyder, all of Hampton, Tenn., Mack Hyder, Perry
Hyder, both of Mt. Morris, Mich., and Keith Hyder, Burton, Mich.; five
grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and
