KINGSPORT - Caldwell Gillenwater, 77,101 Holcombe St., went to be
with the Lord at his home at 4:30 a.m. Thursday(Feb. 22, 2001.
Born in Scott County, Va., he was a resident of Kingsport forthe past
40 years.
Mr. Gillenwater attended New Beginning Church of Jesus Christ.
His wife, Lilly Gillenwater preceded him in death in 1982. He was also
preceded in death by two sons, Jerry and Lucion Gillenwater; his
parents, Fate and Maranda Gillenwater; four sisters and three
brothers.
Surviving are seven daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda Oaks, Shirley and
Rev. Leonard Dixon, Shelby and Rev. Charles Thacker, Elizabeth and
Roger Barnette, Peggy and GaryBailey, Nellie and Tommy Hutson, Joann
and Jason France, all of Kingsport; seven sons and daughters-in-law,
Billy and Susie Gillenwater, J.C. and Carol Gillenwater, L.C. and
Cathy Gillenwater, Homer and Cheryl Gillenwater, Norman and Donna
Gillenwater, all of Kingsport, Fred and Kim Gillenwater, Fall Branch
and Carroll Gillenwater, of the home; 28 grandchildren; 32
great-grandchildren; two great-great-granchildren; one sister, Clarice
Elliott, Sarasota, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral
Home, downtown Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home
chapel with the Rev. Thomas R. Benton officiating.
Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials may be given to the charity of donorus choice.

FORT BLACKMORE, Va. - Mary Lucille Edwards Brickey, 81, was called
home to be with the Lord Sunday (Oct. 8, 2000) at the Wellmont Holston
Valley Medical Center.
Mrs. Brickey was born in Scott County, Va. on Nov. 21, 1918. She was a
homemaker and the daughter of the lateBen Edwards and Bessie Thompson
Bowser.
In addition to her parents, she wasalso preceded in death by her
husband, Carl Alfred Brickey; three sisters, Frances Dickerson, Hazel
Smith, and Edna Owens; and one brother, J.E. Hall.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Bobby W. Cassell,
Nickelsville, Va.; two sisters and brother-in-law, Maxie and Roger
Sharp, and Ms. Jean Hall Bradley, both of Farmington Hills, Mich.;
granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Lori and Neal Roberts, Kingsport;
grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Michael and Tammy Cassell,
Clinchport, Va.; great-granddaughter, Carli Cheyenne Cassell; and
great-grandson, John-Logan Hunter Cassell.
Calling hours willbe from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Gate City Funeral
Home, and anytime at the residence of the daughter, Deborah Cassell.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel
of the funeral home with the Rev. Riley Boyand the Rev. Mack Sanders
officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Holston View
Cemetery, Weber City, Va.
The family will meet at the funeral home at 1 p.m. to go in procession
to the cemetery.
