FT. BLACKMORE, Va. - Rev. Albert Junior Poole, 82, Ft. Blackmore, went
to be with the Lord Saturday (July 17, 2004) at his residence.
Mr. Poole was born in Scott County, Va., on April 24, 1922 to the late
Thomas Jefferson andLucy Light Poole.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. He became a
Baptist minister in 1959 and was a former Pastor of Rivermont Baptist
Church and Moores Memorial.
He was a truck driver for 25 years and a former employee of Gate City
Funeral Home.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Ruth Brickey Poole (1991); and
four brothers, Joe, Glen, Jack and Russell Poole preceded him in
death.
Surviving are his wife, Maxie Broadwater Poole,Gate City, Va.;
daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Roger "John Brown" Summey, Ft.
Blackmore; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Elizabeth Poole,
Kingsport; step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Janice "Tuttie" and Jeff
Jennings,Gate City, Va.; stepson, Jerry P. Broadwater, Gate City,
Va.; stepdaughter-in-law, Jamie M. Broadwater, Gate City, Va.;
grandchildren, Lisa Woods and husband, Bill, Kaye Falin and husband,
Arthur, Donna Rhoton and husband, Tony, Jeff Poole and wife, Renea,
Mike Poole and wife, Robin Sanders Poole, Gate City, Va., and
granddaughter, Wendy Poole of Kingsport; great-grandchildren, Matt

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Gate City Funeral Home and
other times at the residence of his daughter.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Gene Falin
Memorial Chapel ofthe funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Begley and the
Rev. Terry Rhoton officiating.
Toke Hensley, James Lawson, Kelly Chafin, Buford Salling and Robin
Poole will provide the music.
Burial will follow the service at Holston View Cemetery in Weber City,
Va.
Jim Cox, Charlie Armstrong, Clyde Carter, Hurbert McDavid, Joe Begley
and Herm Dean will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Lane was a farmer and had served in the U.S.Army. He was born in
Ft. Blackmore, Va.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Margaret Lane
and Roy Dockery.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives,
Geneva Gillenwater Lane and Lora Lane; one stepdaughter, Matilda Jane
Williams; two brothers, Arie Lane and Doe Lane.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Bobby (Ann) Engle, Johnson City,
Judy Ramey of Kingsport, and Peggy Lane Ramey of Gray; two sons,
Clarence LaneJr. of Gray and Cecil Lane of Blountville; two sisters,
Irene Davidson of Oregon and Clalie Carrico of Kingsport; eight
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held today at 2 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel
with the Rev. Orville Dolen officiating.
Burial will follow in the Snyder'sMemorial Garden with full military
honors by American Legion Posts 3/265.
Pallbearers will be David Luttrell, Danny Luttrell, Ronnie Shipley,
Connie Walton, Rick Ramey and Gilmer Mullins.

Frazier; four brothers, Arland, Monroe, Carl and Coy Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Olene Williams, Gate City, Va.; daughter,
Patricia Hensley, Gate City, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, Bobbyand
Connie Williams, Ft. Blackmore, Va.; sister, Alma Dockery, Kingsport;
special pet, "Rowdy"; granddaughter, Sheena Hensley; grandson, Joshua
Williams and a great-grandson, Austin Hensley; and several nieces and
nephews.
