KINGSPORT - Hazel Lewis Stewart, 86, 2440 WildwoodDrive, (Preston
Forest), died Monday (Feb. 26, 2001) at Wexford House.
Shewas born in Scott County, Va., and was the daughter of the late
William Henderson Lewis and Sarah Elizabeth Gilliam Lewis. She was a
graduate of Radford College and taught school for over 42 years in the
Scott County and KingsportCity School Systems. She retired from
Kingsport City Schools.
Mrs. Stewart was a member of Zion Baptist Church (Fairview, Va.) and
attended Kingsley United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Fred
Wilson Stewart, Dec. 21, 2000; her parents; two sisters, Gladys Bland
and Mae Gifford; and a special nephew, Eugene Stewart.
Surviving are a nephew, Bill Wallen and wife, Dorothy, Church Hill; a
special cousin, Mozelle Garber, Kingsport; her special caregivers,
Jack Childress and his wife, Mauddean, Kingsport; sister-in-laws, Dora
Glass, Blackwater, Va., Ardena Robinette,Big Stone Gap, Va., and Osa
Stewart, Duffield, Va.
Calling hours are from 5to 7 p.m. Thursday at Carter-Trent Funeral
Home, downtown.
Services will beconducted at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home
chapel with the Rev. RaymondAmos officiating.
Music will be provided by Wade Childress.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Holston View
Cemetery, Weber City,Va.

KINGSPORT - Fred Wilson Stewart, 87, died at 11:50 a.m. Thursday (Dec.
21, 2000) at Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol.
Born Feb. 11, 1913 in Scott County, Va., he was the son of the late T.
Jackson Stewart and Sarah Johnson Stewart. He attended Kingsley United
Methodist Church, Bloomingdale, as long as he wasphysically able.
Mr. Stewart was employed by Holston Defense, retiring in 1976.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers,
Lucian, Ezra and Marvin Stewart; five sisters, Virgie Robinette,
Myrtle Stewart, Ola Stewart, Bertie Childress and Grace Robinette.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel Lewis Stewart, Kingsport; two sisters,
Dora Glass, Blackwater, Va., and ArdenaRobinette, Big Stone Gap, Va.;
a sister-in-law, Osa Stewart; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 12 noon to 1 p.m. today at Carter-TrentFuneral
Home, Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today in thefuneral home chapel
with the Rev. Raymond Amos officiating.
Burial will be in Holston View Cemetery.
