JONESBOROUGH - Velma Alice Morelock, 77, of 126 Kiser Circle, passed
away Sunday (May 25, 2003) at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Washington County, where she had lived most of her life,
she was the daughter of the late Dana and Maggie Lane Wines.
Mrs. Morelock was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her
husband, Clarence Morelock; and stepmother, Edna Wines.
Survivorsinclude her caregivers, Janice and Don Wines and John, of
Jonesborough; three stepdaughters and two stepsons; and a very special
friend, Alice Miller ofJonesborough; one goddaughter, Kathy Herceg,
and one godson, Raymond Frye; two aunts, Kit Dodson and Katherine
Wines; several cousins.
Calling hours arefrom 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Gray Funeral Home
Chapel in Gray.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home
chapel with the Rev.Jerry Scalf and the Rev. Betty Robinson
officiating.
Music will be by the Hobbs Family.
Interment will be at Doty's Chapel Church Cemetery.

WEBER CITY, Va. - Irene F. Blanton, 94, died Monday (Aug. 20, 2001) at
Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was born in Norton, Va. on April 7, 1907 and was the daughterof
the late Lee and Dora Easterling Flanary. She was a homemaker and a
member of Saks Baptist Church in Anniston, Ala.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
Arlen D. Blanton, founder of Scott CountyLumber and Hardware; two
sons, James E. Blanton and Charles J. Blanton.
Surviving are her sons, John Blanton and wife Ruth, Weber City, Va.,
and HaroldBlanton and wife Betty Lou, Sweetwater, Tenn.; seven
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Mullins,
Norton, Va.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home,
