FT. BLACKMORE, Va. - Mary Lizzie Dockery Summey, 96, went to be with
the Lord Thursday (July 13, 2000) at Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was born in the Starnes Bluff section of Scott County on Feb.1,
1904 to the late Melvin and Ava Lawson Dockery. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Summey attended and was a past member of Pine Grove Baptist
Church.
Otherthan her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
Richmond Summey;a son, Hobert (Junior) Summey; brothers, Wrightly
Dockery, Leonard (Ben) Dockery, Robert (Bob) Dockery; and two infant
brothers.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Boyd and Peggy Summey, Garnie
and Juanita Summey, all of Ft.Blackmore, Va.; daughter-in-law,
Barbara Summey, Ft. Blackmore, Va.; sisters, Eve Summey, Ruth Booher,
Clyde McNutt Dingus, all of Kingsport; brother, Carl Dockery, Ft.
Blackmore, Va.; granddaughters and husbands, Carol and RonaldTrent,
Pansy and Jeff Wilson, Lorene and Victor Finch, D`Lynn and Jerry
Lawson, Sherry and Roger Greene; grandsons and wives, Danny and Patty
Summey, Raymond and Cindy Summey, Mickey Summey; eight
great-granddaughters; six great-grandsons; one great-great-grandson;
two step great-granddaughters; and twostep great-grandsons; and
several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from6 to 9 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home,
Weber City, Va., and anytime atthe residence of a son, Garnie Summey.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pine Grove Baptist
Church with the Rev. Gene Jennings and the Rev. Albert Poole
officiating. Music will be conducted by Shelby Greear and Jim and
Evelyn Brickey.
The body will lie in state one hour prior to the services.
Burial will follow at Begley Cemetery on Route 65, Ft. Blackmore, Va.
Pallbearers will be Mickey Summey, Raymond Summey, Jerry Lawson,
Victor Finch, RogerGreene, Jeff Wilson, Ronnie Trent, and Allen Oaks.
Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Summey, Jim Darnell and John Brown
Summey.

Beulah Lea Cordle

DUNGANNON, Va. - Jesus called and the angels came down and carried
Beulah Lea Cordle Dockery to be with her Lord and Savior on July 16,
2003 at Indian Path Hospital. Her family was with her when the angels
came.
Beulah was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was
loved and admired by everyone she had known. She was a true Christian
and a member of the First Baptist Church of Dungannon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wrightly Dockery; two sons,
Jackie and Jerry Dockery;her mother, Esther Ramsey Page; father,
Charlie Cordle; a sister; a brotherand several grandchildren.
Surviving are her sons and daughter-in-law, Freddieand Jewel Dockery
and Bo Dockery, all of Dungannon, Va., Jimmy Dockery, Kingsport,
Lucian Dockery and Pridemore Dockery, both of Dungannon, Va.;
daughters and sons-in-law, Joann and Billy Grizzle, Dungannon, Va.,
Barbara and Melvin Summey, Phyllis and Michael Grizzle, Donna and Herb
McCoy, all of Dungannon, Va., Wanda and Van Raines, Weber City, Va.,
Edna Lane, Dungannon, Va., Laura Stephens, Castlewood, Va., and Bonnie
Cox, Chicago, Ill.; 44 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren and 14
great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Fred Corder and Melvin Cordle,
both of Nickelsville, Va., Johnny Ramsey, Big Rock, Va., and Tommy
Ramsey, Ohio; sisters, Eula Brickey, Kingsport, Georgia Shadle,Faye
Caldwell and Joyce Reedy, all of Ohio and Jean Bass, California;
special friends, Lucy Mann, John Sweeney, Kaye Dockery and Doretta
Gibson.
Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Gate City Funeral Home and
other timesat the Dockery Home Place in Dungannon, Va.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist
Church of Dungannon where the body of Mrs.Dockery will lie in state
one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Kelly Carter and the Rev.
Ronald Elliott will be officiating.
Burial will follow the service at the Dockery Cemetery in Dungannon,
Va.
Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Danny Darnell and Drs. Todd Cassell and Gary Michaels will serve as
honorary pallbearers.
The family wishes to say a special thanks to Jena Hall, the 5th floor
nursing staff of Indian Path Hospital, Clinch River Health Services,
Allandale Diaylsis Center, Dr. Lissy Thomas, Dr. Blackwelland
Mountain Home Regional Home Care and to each and everyone that said a
prayer or had a thought concerning their beloved mother.

KINGSPORT - Daisy Dockery Gilliam, 73, passed away Tuesday (Feb. 10,
2004) at Bristol Hospice House.
She was born in Scott County, Va., (Ft. Blackmore) but had lived in
Kingsport since 1943. She retired from Norton Floral Company.She was
a member of Oak Drive Independent Church.
She was preceded in deathby her mother, Mary Ann Hall Edwards; one
son, David Dockery; one sister, Marie Edwards; and one brother, Ron
Edwards.
Surviving are her daughter, TrishMcNew and husband Keith, Kingsport;
sons, Leonard 'Doc'' Dockery and wife Jonnie, Jonesborough, and Danny
Dockery and wife Sue Ellen, Gray; six grandchildren, Bryan Dockery,
James Dockery, Danielle Shupe, Stephen Dockery, Tiffany McNew and
Trevor McNew; three great-grandchildren, Eryck, Bailey and Logan
Dockery; sisters, Elga Nickels, Kingsport, and Sandy Aiello and
husband Tom, Davenport, Fla.; brother, Ralph Edwards, Linwood, N.C.;
and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Carter-Trent Funeral
Home, downtown Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Fridayin the funeral home chapel
with Pastor Eddie Whitley and the Rev. Ray Garland officiating.
Music will be provided by Vicki Robinson.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Old
Kingsport Cemetery.
Pallbearerswill be family and friends.
