FT. BLACKMORE, Va. - Carl Ray Dockery, 79, entered into rest Wednesday
(Sept. 5, 2001) at Ridgecrest Nursing Home, Duffield,Va.
Mr. Dockery was born July 7, 1922 and was the son of the late Melvin
Dockery and Ava Lawson Dockery. He was a member of Gillenwater Chapel
Baptist Church and retired from Tennessee Eastman Company.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lizzie
Summey; and three brothers, Ben, Bob and Wrightly Dockery.
Surviving are his wife, Edna Young Dockery, Ft. Blackmore, Va.;
daughter, Sheilah Dockery Markham, Coeburn, Va.; three sisters, Ruth
Booher, Ruby McNutt Dingus and Eve Summey, all of Kingsport; grandson,
Ryan Markham, Coeburn, Va.; several nieces and nephews; and also many
friends.
Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Gate City Funeral Home,
and alsoat the residence.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in the Gene Falin Memorial
Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Walker Darnell and the Rev.
Luther Presley officiating.
Music will be provided by the Lee Smith Singers.
Burial will follow the service at Lawson Memorial Cemetery, Ft.
Blackmore, Va.
Benny McNutt, James "Babe" Lawson, Billy Lawson, Jr., Daniel Dean,
Eddie Dean and Lonnie Ramey will serve as pallbearers.

KOKOMO, Ind. - Lucille J. Sanders, 94, died inManor Care Thursday
(Oct. 9, 2003).
Lucille was born in Hawkins County, Tenn., the daughter of Charles W.
and Nannie Mae (Mellon) Agee.
Lucille had spent the last year and a half at Manor Care, prior to
that she had lived and spent time with her children. She was a devoted
mother, housewife and caretakerfor 80 years. She enjoyed being a
mother, spending time with her family, especially her children and
grandchildren.
She was a member of Vernon Heights Baptist Church in Kingsport, Tenn.,
and a former member of Westview Baptist Church also of Kingsport.
Lucille is survived by her children, Mildred Ruth Kilgore of
Kingsport, Thomas P. Sanders and Joyce of Kingsport, Frances M.
Gillenwater and Charles of Mount Pelier, Ind., Nancy Gillenwater and
Jonah of Gate City, Va., Ronald L. Sanders and Margaret of

angels to be with her Savior on Saturday evening (Sept. 14, 2002) at
Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born June 20, 1920 in Scott County, Va., she was a daughter of the
late Ira andEliza Jane Sanders. She was a homemaker and had lived
most of her life in this area. She was a loving wife, mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was loved by all who
knew her and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three
sisters, Edna Bishop,Mary Kimbler and Christine Knowles; and two
brothers, Henry and Sam Sanders.
Survivors include her husband, Barney Gillenwater, Kingsport; one son,
Granvel Brickey, Orlando, Fla.; two daughters and son-in-law, Melba
Bishop, CathyCarberry and husband Mickey, all of Kingsport; six
grandchildren, Marcy Misner and husband Ron, Gene Bishop and wife
Phyllis, Timothy Bishop, Robin Hall and husband Claude, Tammy

about 40 years. Dad is now living in that city that he taught about
for so many years. Leaving behind 10 children,15 grandchildren, 24
great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and friends who
loved and appreciated the life he lived before them.
He was bornin Scott County, Va., on June 16, 1917 to the late John
and Emily Lawson Stallard.
