JOHNSON CITY - Daphne K. Dean, 91, a resident of the Asbury Center,
formerly of 630 Walnut Ave., Kingsport, died Tuesday (Sept. 19, 2000)
at the Asbury Center, Johnson City.
Mrs. Dean was born Daphne Louemma Kathleen McClellan on Clinch
Mountain, Va. and grew up in Scott County, Va. and Kingsport. A
homemaker, Mrs. Dean also worked in a Kingsport hosiery mill before
she married.
She was a member of the former Stone Drive United Methodist Church
where she served for many years as a nursery school teacher. She was
also a member of thechurchus womenus circle groups, quilting group,
and senior citizenus group.
Aside from her church activities, Mrs. Dean enjoyed crocheting,
gardening, and traveling. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
In years past, she spent much time as a caregiver for her in-laws,
mother, and other family members.
Mrs. Dean was the daughter of the late Patrick McClellan and Clara
Hinton Minton.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her
husband,Robert E. Dean; a daughter, Patricia Dean Sanders; and
brothers, Willard McClellan and John McClellan.
Surviving are her sons, Robert W. Dean and wife Shirley, Raleigh,
N.C., and Maurice L. Dean and wife Maria, Lotus, Cal.;nine
grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five nieces; and two nephews.
Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Oak Hill
Funeral Home.

Lillian Grace Henderson

She returned from Oregon and enrolled at Shoemaker HS. Three months

GATE CITY, Va. - Mrs. Lillian Grace Henderson Williams, 93, entered
intoeternal rest Friday (June 8, 2001) at Church Hill Health Care.
Mrs. Williams was born in Scott County, Va., on Sept. 18, 1907, a
daughter of the late Joseph Hickman and Mary Ellen Patton Henderson.
She was a United States veteran serving as an Army nurse during World
War II and later worked in the nursing profession. She was a member of
the Gate City Rebekah Lodge No. 86 and of the Gate City Chapter No.
116 Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
John Hampton Williams in 1986; two sisters, Loretta Henderson and
Mabel Gould; and one brother, J.P. Henderson.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, John W. and Mary Quillen
Williams, Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Donald R. and Marga L. Williams,
Kingsport; three grandsons, John Williams, David Williams and
Christopher Williams; two great-grandsons, Thomas Williams and Alex
Williams; one great-granddaughter, Shannon Williams; one sister, Alice
Richardson, Portland, Ore.; one brother-in-law, Dr. Leland Gould,
Coquielle, Ore.; one step grandson, Ronnie Lisenby; andtwo step
great-grandsons, James and David Lisenby; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Gate City Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the Juanita S. Falin
Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Hoilman and the Rev. John
Daniel officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday at Holston View
Cemetery,Weber City, Va. The family will be meeting at 12:15 p.m.
Sunday to go in procession to the graveside service.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family requests that those who wish may make memorial
contributions inmemory of Mrs. Williams to the Gate City First
Baptist Church Building Fund,P.O. Box 97, Gate City, Va. 24251.

John Stanley Price

KINGSPORT - John Stanley Price, 81, went to be with the Lord Saturday
(Feb. 22, 2003) after a brief illness.
Mr. Price was born in Kingsport and was a lifelong resident. He was a
long-standing member of Vermont United Methodist Church, and had
served as a Sunday School teacher and lay leader.
Mr. Price retired from the Tennessee Eastman Company in 1982 following
43 years of servicein the Polymer Division.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater
with the Sixth Marine Division. Mr. Price was a member of the American
Legion Hammond Post #3.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Offie Mae Light Price
and Joseph Solomon Price; two brothers, Shields and Sam Price; two
sisters, Bonnie Harless and Edith Cox.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 62 years, Pearl Jennings Price; two
sons and their wives, Philip and Minola Price, Kingsport, and Michael
and Loretta Price, Blaine, Tenn.;daughter and son-in-law, Sammie and
Sam Chesser, Kodak, Tenn.; six grandchildren, two stepgrandsons, and
seven great-grandchildren; sister, Pearl Stanifer, of Georgia.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral
Homes, downtown, and anytime at the home.
Services will be conducted at2 p.m. Tuesday in Vermont United
Methodist Church with the Rev. Danny Hensley, Pastor Joe W. Byrd and
the Rev. Steve Burkhart officiating.
The body willbe taken to the church one hour prior to service.
Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with military graveside rites
conducted by Charles DeWitt Byrd Post #3382 of the VFW.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Gary, Larry, Mitchum, Johnand Andy
Price, and nephew, Gary Harrell.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends, Ed Lane, Wayne Almany, Jim
Hammonds, Denver King, Paul Calton, and all remaining nephews.
