KINGSPORT - Lamanda Jane Woods Mullins, 69, of 232 Bert Street, died
Tuesday(May 1, 2001) at her home.
Born in Big Stone Gap, Va., she had lived in Kingsport most of her
life. She attended Midfield Freewill Baptist Church, and wasa
homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Mullins; sisters, Nola
Clark and Mary Yonce; and her parents, Emmanuel and Rebecca Woods.
Surviving are two daughters, Sherry Davis, Duluth, Ga., and Barbara
Jennings, Kingsport; son, Joe Edgar Jennings, Kingsport; stepdaughter
and son-in-law, Sharon and Ron Thacker, Kingsport; stepsons and
daughters-in-law, Robert and Deborah Mullins, Kingsport, Gary and
Clara Mullins, David Mullins and Tommy Mullins, all of Church Hill; 23
grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law,
Bernice and Howard Housewright, Kingsport, and Thelma Stubblefield,
Lawrencevillle, Ga.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Elmer and Clara
Woods, Kingsport, Lustus Woods, Hampton, Tenn., Elijah and Joan Woods,
Surgoinsville, Jack and Juanita Woods, Kingsport, John and Eva Mae
Woods, Mount Carmel, and Bill and Annie Woods, Kingsport; also several
nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Oak Hill Funeral
Home.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Oak Hill Chapel
with Pastor Billy Gragg officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Oak Hill
Cemetery.

KINGSPORT - Mary J. Dockery, 76, died Monday (Sept. 2, 2002) at
Holston Valley Medical Center.
A Kingsportnative, she was the daughter of the late B.A. and Luma
McClellan Jennings.
She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded indeath by her husband, Amburs B. Dockery.
Surviving are her daughter, SheridanGarland; granddaughters, Jessica
Wells Gasteiger and Dallas Garland; two great-grandchildren, Trey and
Olivia Gasteiger, all of Johnson City; two sisters, Roxie Jarvis of
Nashville and Coleen Vance of Kingsport; one brother, Ronald Jack
Jennings of Bristol; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the entire staff
at Greystone Nursing facility for their love and kindness during the
past few months.
Calling hours arefrom 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Funeral Home.

KINGSPORT - Amburs B. Dockery, 80, passed away on Thursday (Nov. 22,
2001) athis home following a brief illness.
A native of Kingsport, he was a retired electrician and World War II
veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Jennings Dockery, of the home; daughter,
Sheridan Garland; two granddaughters, JessicaGestieger and Dallas
Garland; one great-grandson, Trey, all of Johnson City.He is survived
by several brothers and sisters: brothers, Mack Dockery, Columbus,
Ohio, Buddy Dockery, Howard Dockery and Harris Dockery, all of
Kingsport; sisters, Beatrice Clements and Georgia Williams, Kingsport,
Thelma Peters, Blountville and Virgie Williams, Leesburg, Fla.
He was a loving and wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will
be greatly missed. He was loved and responded by all who knew him.
The Dockery family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. A
memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. in the Oak Hill Funeral Home
Chapel.
A military graveside service will be conducted at 1p.m. Sunday in Oak
Hill Cemetery.

When he was very young, the family moved to Montana. His mother died

was 8, and the family moved back to Scott Co.

Gave me some family information.
Irma and Festuswent to Jonesville, Lee Co, Va to marry. Accompanying
them were Edgar Lane,her brother, his wife Charmie, her half-brother
Hastie, and Polly Campbell. While there, Hastie and Polly decided on
the spur of the moment to marry also.Edgar and Charmie let the
honeymooners stay at their house on the mountain somewhere in the
"Wildcat" near the Wise and Lee Co line. During the night, alog
rolled out of the fireplace and caught the floor afire. (from a story

WEBER CITY, Va. - Irma Estelle Lane Snodgrass,90, formerly of Gate
City, departed this life early Friday morning (Sept. 14, 2001) at the
Brian Center.
A native of Lee County, Va., she was past worthy matron of Order of
the Eastern Star No. 116 of Gate City. She was a memberof the Rebecca
Lodge of Gate City. She was a Red Cross Nurses Aid Volunteer and a
member of the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program.
Mrs. Snodgrass was a homemaker and a member of Nottingham United
Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Festus W. Snodgrass
Sr.; a son, Festus W.Snodgrass Jr.; great-granddaughter, Victoria
Snodgrass; brothers, Hasty Lane, Edgar Lane, John Lane and Carl Lane.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Lou Moffa,
Summerville, S.C.; sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Teresa
Snodgrass, Kingsport and John and Irma Snodgrass, Weber City, Va.;
daughter-in-law, Jewell Snodgrass, Oak Ridge; sisters-in-law, Jo
Snodgrass, Kingsport, Blanche Lane, Big Stone Gap, Va., and Myrtle
Lane, Dayton, Ohio; grandchildren, Jeff Snodgrass, Steve Snodgrass,
Delores Foust, Tammy Lane, TracieDeskins, Karen Floyd, Jennifer
McFarland and Kellie McFarland; great-grandchildren, Heather Holder,
Jessica Foust, Trever Foust, Danielle Brown, Elizabeth Snodgrass,
Brandon Lane, Kerianne Deskins, Amber Floyd, Nicholas Floyd, Marissa
McFarland, Allie McFarland and Chloe McFarland; and several nieces and
nephews.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. today in Holston View Cemetery. Family and
friends will meet at 1 p.m. at Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City,
Va.,to go to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
