WEBER CITY, Va. - John Carroll (Pappy) Stallard, 92, born Jan. 17,
1912 to John and Ida Mae Stallard inIowa, died peacefully at home on
Sunday (Aug. 1, 2004).
Pappy was a belovedfather, grandfather and friend to many and a
Christian. A carpenter by trade,Pappy built many of the houses in and
around the Weber City/Gate City area.
Pappy was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Pendleton Stallard;
son, James Banner Stallard; daughter-in-law, Joyce Stallard; brother,
Ivan Stallard; three sisters, Lockie Gilliam, Marie Cleek, and Wanda
Hamblin.
He is survivedby two daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Carl Lane of
Kingsport, Jayne andAllen Lawson of Church Hill; two sons and one
daughter-in-law, Lee and Margaret Stallard of Kingsport, Jerry
Stallard of the home; 10 grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren, eight
great-great- grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis Easterling of
Kingsport; one brother, Charles Stallard of Weber City; several nieces
and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Colonial Funeral Home,
Weber City, and anytime at the residence.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home
chapel with Pastor Johnny Gibson and the Rev. Wrightly Salling
officiating.
Music will be provided by family and friends.
Graveside services will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Stallard
Cemetery, (Midway community) Gate City, Va. The family will meet at
the funeralhome at 10 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
Sons-in-law and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers are the Quik Stop Gang: Tommy Johnson, Carl Hall,
Mack Edwards, Bill Lane, Fred Head, M.J. McConnell, Nick Nickels.
Lived in Scott Co before moving to the Gray, TN, area in 1972. He was
a former miner and building contractor. Served in the U.S. Navy

KINGSPORT - Phyllis Stallard Easterling, 88, died peacefully at her
home after a short illness on Thursday (Oct. 7, 2004).
She was born in Scott County,Va., (Midway community) and had lived in
Kingsport since 1967. She attendedThe Spiritual Church in Jesus Name
for several years.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother.
She was preceded indeath by her husband, Virgil Easterling in 1986;
her parents, John L. Stallard and Ida Smith Stallard; three sisters,
Lockie Gilliam, Wanda Hamblin and Marie Cleek; two brothers, John
Carroll Stallard and Ivan H. Stallard, all of Scott County, Va.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Renavae Buonaccorsi and
husband Paul of Gate City, Va.; four sons and two daughters-in-law,
Fred Easterling and wife Cledith, Gate City, Va. (Midway), Kelly
Easterling and Johnny Easterling, both of Kingsport, and Andrew
Easterling and wife Jennifer of Blountville; 10 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Stallard of East Carters
Valley Road; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Evelyn Pearson of Kingsport for her loving help and
care that she gave to Mrs. Easterling.

home Wednesday (April 16, 2003) after an extended illness.
Marie was born Feb. 10, 1921 in Scott County, Va. to John Logan and
Ida Mae Smith Stallard. She was a devoted Christian of the Apostolic
faith.
Marie was preceded in death by herhusband, Tommie Cleek; a daughter,
Cathy; her parents; one brother and two sisters.
Surviving are her son, Gary and his wife, Kay; a grandson, Jason
Cleek; granddaughter, Kelly Shepard and her husband, Doug; a
great-granddaughter,Shauna Shepard; two brothers, Charles Stallard
and wife, Faye and Carroll Stallard; one sister, Phyllis Easterling;
one sister-in-law, Mary McClellan; and several nieces and nephews.

Carters Valleyarea since 1949. She worked at Eastman at an early age.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Conley Darnell and Mennie
Starnes Darnell; three brothers, Dennie Darnell, Charles Darnell and
Roy Darnell.
Surviving are her husband, Charles Stallard, of the home; son, Ronnie
Stallard, Gate City; sister, Martha McConnell and husband, H.L., Gate
City; several nieces and nephews.
