in Wise, Va, and Naples,Fla. Member, Board of Visitors, Emory & Henry
College; Manager of Properties, Wesley Foundation Student Center,
Clinch Valley College.

5841. Herbert Jennings "Jim" McClellan

Grad Shoemaker HS and attended Emory &Henry Coll. He was an Army
photographer in WW II. Worked at a lab at Eastmanin Kingsport and for
Timken Roller Bearing Co at Canton, OH. He returned to Scott Co and
was a free lance photographer for the Kingsport Times-News and Bristol
Herald. He was Admin Asst and 1st Sgt of Co D, 116th Inf, 29th Div, Va
National Guard. The family moved to Wise Co in 1953 when he took a job
withStallard Bros Coal Co. He and C.J. Chaffin formed Sterling Mining
Co in 1967and mined coal until retirement in 1980. ("Heritage of Wise

KINGSPORT - Ollie Belle Williams, 88, went to be with the Lord
Thursday (Sept. 13, 2001) after a period of declining health.
OllieBelle was born July 26, 1913 in Scott County, Va., and was the
daughter of the late James S. and Amanda A. Benton Crooke. She was a
loving mother and grandmother whose smile and tender loving heart will
be missed. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
Carl "Kell'' Williams; infant son, Harpel Odean Williams; sister, Mary
Ellen Williams; and a brother, Lemual Crooke.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Garney M. and Juanita
Williams, Gate City, Va.; five daughters, Bennie J. and son-in-law,
Hagan Joyce, Brinda S. Frye, Alice Jane and son-in-law, David Burke,
all of Kingsport, Claythe L. and son-in-law, Tommy Moore, Phyllis M.
and son-in-law, Rev. Larry Spivey, all of Gate City, Va.; 12
grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews
who were all very dear and special to her.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home,
Weber City, Va., and anytime at the residence of the daughters,
Claythe Moore, 140 Hilton Road, Weber City, Va., and Alice Jane Burke,
242 Bays Mountain Park Road, Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m.today in the funeral home chapel
with the Rev. Larry Spivey, the Rev. John Henry and the Rev. Eckel
Herron officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday at Holston View
Cemetery.
Family and friends will meetat 10:15 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home
to go in procession to the cemetery.
Gary Moore, Randall Spivey, Jeff Winegar, Jack Prince, Blake Hunley
and Dennis Deloach will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Scottie Williams and Mark Williams.

Tillie Katherine Beer

KINGSPORT - Tillie Katherine Benton, 91, went to be with the Lord
Monday (Dec. 1, 2003) at Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was born in Mansfield, Ohio and was a resident of Wexford House.
Mrs. Benton was a homemaker and loved toquilt and do crafts.
Mrs. Benton was a member of the First Church of God in Mansfield,
Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and KatherineBeer;
one son, Ronald V. Hamlin; one sister, Anna Hergatt; three brothers,
Jake, Albert and Russell Beer; and one granddaughter, Crystal Lynn
Benton.
Surviving are her husband, Willie Benton, Kingsport; children, Janice
Blackford, Mansfield, Ohio, Roger Dale Benton, Blountville, Colleen
Grim, Gate City,Va., Delialah Dishner, Bristol, Tenn., Willie Benton
Jr., Bristol, Tenn., and Virginia Johnson, Arin, Tenn.; 15
grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Esther Gray, Shelby, Ohio.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Scott County Funeral Home,
Weber City, Va. Calling hours will also be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday
at Wappner FuneralDirectors, Mansfield, Ohio.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday inthe Wappner Funeral
Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Collins officiating.
Graveside services will be immediately following the funeral service
in MansfieldMemorial Park, Mansfield, Ohio.
Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
