YORK, Pa. - Kathleen Parks, 83, formerly of Gate City, Va., entered
into rest Thursday (Aug. 29, 2002) at Manor Nursing Home in York, Pa.
Born August 24, 1919 in Scott County, Va., she was a daughter of the
late John Andrew and Rosa Benton Williams.
Mrs. Parks was of the Baptist faith and a member of Moores Memorial
Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Parks; one infant
daughter; two sons, John Wayne Parks and an infant son; one sister,
Mamalee Williams; and one brother, Jay Williams.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Ruth Parks, Seven Valleys, Pa.;
sisters, Georgia Davidson, Gate City, Va., and Sue Vineyard,
Kingsport; brothers, Harry Williams, Gate City, Va., and Charles
Williams, Mount Carmel; granddaughter, Stephany Rose Redding,Wichita
Falls, Tex.; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Gate City Funeral
Home. The family will also receive friends at the residence of her
brother, Harry Williams.
Services will beconducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Gene Falin
Memorial Chapel of the funeralhome with the Rev. John Hackney
officiating.
Music will be provided by Junior Smith and Norma Smith.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesdayin the Benton
Cemetery in the Red Hill community.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

GATE CITY, Va. - Eileen M. Williams, 73, entered into rest Sunday
(April 4, 2004) at her residence with her family.
She was born in Scott County, Va., Jan. 16, 1931 to the late Carl B.
Mann and Sudie Blair Mann.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents,
John M. and Ora P. Blair; son, Johnny Williams; sister, Betty Adkins;
twobrothers, Carson E. and William Fred Mann.
She was a member of Blair's ChapelUnited Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Harry Williams, Gate City,
Va.; daughter and son-in-law, Hope and Dennis Reynolds, Wytheville,
Va.; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Eddie Talbert, Kingsport;
sisters-in-law, Georgia Davidson, Gate City, Va., Alma Bear Mann and

WEBER CITY, Va. - Carl Edward Peters, 77, Church Street, departed this
life Thursday (Oct. 25, 2001) at Holston Valley Medical Center.
A native of Creoma, Ky., he was a life member of the International
Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, holding membership for
51 consecutive years, October 1950 to October 2001.
He entered the armed services in 1943, and served in the U.S. Army's
1st Division during World War II. He servedfirst as an infantryman,
landing on Omaha Beach during the D-Day Invasion andlater saw combat
in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. After having beenwounded
twice, he was transferred to the 4th Signal Battalion, where he served
his remaining tour of duty. After the war's end, he continued to serve
anadditional year in the Army during the occupation of Germany.
He was a memberof Holston View United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George M. Peters and Lula
Vermillion Peters; and a brother, H. Paul Peters.
Surviving are his wife, June Haynes Peters, Weber City, Va.; sons and
daughters-in-law, Lynn Edward Peters and Sue Cassell Peters, Lebanon,
Va., Ronnie Peters and Kimberly Sivert Peters, Mount Carmel;
grandchildren, Carrie Michele Peters and fiance Daniel Dykes, and
Shawn Daniel Peters, all of Mount Carmel; and several nieces and
nephews.

KINGSPORT - Elvia June Dingus Reilly, 79, passed away Friday morning
(Aug. 3, 2001) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born in Scott County on Aug. 26, 1921, she was the daughter of the
late Conley T. McClellan and Kate Shelton McClellan Stokes. She was a
retired nurse from Holston Valley Medical Center.
Mrs. Reilly was an active member of Higher Ground Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first
husband, Maynard Dingus in 1976; and a granddaughter, Angel Richards.
