GATE CITY, Va. - Madeline Pearl McClellan, 84, diedMonday (March 4,
2002) at Brian Center.
She was born in Wise County, Va., onAug. 13, 1917 and was the
daughter of the late Walter Franklin Horne and Ruby Mae Renfro Horne.
She retired from the yarn division of Tennessee Eastman.
She was a member of Nottingham United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
Garland E. McClellan; son, Kenneth A. McClellan; grandson, Quinten A.
McClellan; one sister and two brothers.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Jan McClellan Kuenning and
Col. Rick Kuenning, Stuttgart, Germany, Pamela McClellan Burke and
Jeff Burke, Gate City, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, Gary E. and Lisa
McClellan, Kingsport; grandchildren, Mary Susan Kuenning, Allison
Burke and Jessica Burke; sisters, Virginia Bellamy and Lyle Horne,
both of Gate City, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home,
Weber City, Va., and anytime at her residence.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home
chapel with the Rev. Paul Lane andthe Rev. Bill Porter officiating.
Eulogy will be given by Col. Rick Kuenning.
Music will be provided by Mark Stayton.
Burial will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, Va.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Quillen, Mike Bellamy, Sammy Bellamy, Doug
Gray, Dan Gray, David Gray, Mike Carico and Dane McClellan.

GATE CITY, Va. - Elmer Lee McClellan, born on June 1, 1924, died
Friday (Sept. 24, 2004) at the age of 80 as a result of a car
accident.
Mr. McClellan retired from A&L Construction Co. at Eastman and was
previously employed by American News Company, Marlboro Construction
Co. andKingsport Press in Shipping.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II for two
years in the South Pacific.
He was a member of Cowans Branch Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. McClellan was preceded in death by his parents, Hughie and Nannie
Hammonds McClellan; a son, Ronnie C. McClellan; and a great-grandson,
James McKinley Hall. He was also preceded in death by two sisters,
Agnes McClellan Carico and Marie McClellan Peters; and three brothers,
Garland McClellan, Emmett McClellan and Glen McClellan.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years and nine months, Ruby Fletcher
McClellan; and a son, David McClellan, both of the home. He is also
survived by a granddaughter and her husband, Gwenda and Tom Hall of
Gate City, Va.; and a grandson, Shannon McClellanof Clinchport, Va.;
three brothers, J. Fred McClellan and his wife Tally, PatMcClellan,
Charlie McClellan and his wife Jerrie, all of Gate City, Va.; anda
sister-in-law, Annie Fletcher; several nieces, nephews and special
friends.
Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Scott County Funeral Home,
Weber City, Va. Friends may also call anytime at the residence of
Annie Fletcher.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel
with the Rev. Jerry Hall, the Rev. Paul Blessing, the Rev. Robert
Fletcher andthe Rev. Charles Boone officiating.
Music will be provided by the Volunteers.
Burial will follow the services in Holston View Cemetery with American
Legion Post 3/265 Gate City, Joe W. Byrd, Chaplain, in charge of
graveside services.
Pallbearers will be Mike Carrico, Dane McClellan, Bob Ervin, Junior
Jennings, Gary McClellan, Steve "String Bean" Strickler.
Honorary pallbearers willbe Don Kelly, Fred Carico, David McClellan,
Shannon McClellan and James M. Lane.
