6060. Jerry Ronald Gilreath

BLOUNTVILLE - Jerry Ronald Gilreath, 58, went to be with the Lord
early Saturday morning (Jan. 22, 2005) at Wellmont Holston Valley
Medical Center.
He was born in Sullivan County (Kingsport) and had lived here most of
hislife. He was a 1964 graduate of Holston High School and a 1968
graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He attended
graduate school at East Tennessee State University and the University
of Kentucky.
He was an agent forDon Slaughter Realty Co. and retired in 1995 from
Bechtel Engineering Corp.,Houston, Tex. He retired from Alemite Corp.
in Johnson City in 2004.
He wasa member of Indian Springs Optimist Club and Island Road
Evangelical Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul C. Gilreath in 1986.
Surviving are his loving wife of 37 years, Carolyn Vicars Gilreath of
the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela G. Boatman and husband
Jack, Dandridge, Tenn., Amy G. Landers and husband Johnny,
Jonesborough; five grandchildren, Jackson Paul Gilreath Boatman,
Kaitlin S. Boatman, Michaela A. Boatman, Tristan Keith Gilreath
Boatman, Colin M.R. Landers; mother, Lillian Sampson Gilreath of Gray;
two sisters, Myrna G. Bethany of Florida, and Janice G. Abernethy of
Gray; one brother, Paul Douglas Gilreath of Blountville; several
nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Carter-Trent Funeral Home,
downtown Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel
with the Rev. L.D. Lane and the Rev. Larry DeVault officiating.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tri-Cities Memory
Gardens. Family and friends attending the graveside services may meet
at thecemetery by 10:55 a.m. Tuesday.
Brothers-in-law and nephews will serve as pallbearers.

6070. Thomas Andrew "Tommy" Sampson

He lived at Hiltons, VA, and had lived all of his life at Scott Co. He
died in an auto collision on very bad icy roads after a blizzard.

Ina Mae Shoun

KINGSPORT - Ina Mae Bishop, 71, East Carters Valley Garden, passed
away unexpectedly on Thursday (Jan. 2, 2003) at Indian Path Medical
Center emergency room.
Mrs. Bishop was born in Roda, Va. and lived most of her life in
Kingsport. She was a 1950 graduate of Lynn View High School and a
faithful member ofMorrison City Mission Church.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, special sister and devoted
friend.
She was preceded in death by her father, David Shoun; her mother and
stepfather, Maude and Emory Burton; stepbrother, James Burton; and
stepsister, Juanita League.
Surviving are her husband, Alfred"Jr." Bishop, of the home;
daughters, Mrs. Ron (Susan) Bedford, Mrs. Mike (Terri) Richards and
Bethany Bishop, all of Kingsport; sister, Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Rolen,
Kingsport; stepsisters, Beulah Allen and Virgie McGrady, both of
Kingsport; brothers, Mr. Dallas Shoun and wife Bobbie of Kingsport and
Mr. Carl Shoun and wife Betty of Diamond Springs, Calif.;
stepbrothers, C.L. Burtonand Garland Burton, both of Kingsport;
granddaughter, Melanie Richards; grandson, Steven Bedford; and several
nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from5 to 7 p.m. today at Carter-Trent Funeral Home,
downtown Kingsport. Family will receive friends anytime at the home.
Services will be conducted at 7 p.m.today in the funeral home chapel
with Pastor Kenneth C. Hill officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Walnut Chapel
Church,E. Carters Valley. Friends and family will meet at the
cemetery by 1:50 p.m.

6077. Cecil R. Bishop

KINGSPORT - Cecil R. Bishop, 53, 201 Timberland Circle, went to be
with his Lord and Savior Friday afternoon (July 7, 2000) at his
residence after an extended illness.
He was born in Scott County, Va., a son of Stella Sampson Bishop,
Kingsport and the late Lovel A. Bishop.
He was a United States Army veteran serving in Korea. He graduated
from East Tennessee State University in 1971.
Mr. Bishop was the former owner of Cecil R. Bishop and Company and
Volunteer Electric. He was a CPA and a Contractor. He was an avid
golfer, a member of the Southern Golfing Society winning Golfer of the
Year in 1993 and 1996.
He was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church. He was a member of
the American Society of Certified Public Accountants.
In addition to his father, he waspreceded in death by two brothers,
Claude E. Bishop and Conley L. Bishop.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sandra R.
Bishop, of the home; three sons, Jonathan R. Bishop, Kingsport,
Richard M. Bishop and Daniel J. Bishop, both of the home; three
brothers, Alfred Bishop and wife, Ina Mae, Kingsport, Charles Bishop
and wife, Nancy, Charleston, S.C., James A. Bishop and wife, Susan,
Kingsport; father-in-law, Fred Lane, Kingsport; severalnieces and
nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at East Lawn Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with
the Rev. Elmer Lester and the Rev. Jim Kilgore officiating.
Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday in East
Lawn Memorial Park. Isaiah 40:31.
