KINGSPORT _ Mabel Starnes Milhorn, 86, entered into eternalrest at 6
p.m. Sunday (May 14, 2000) at Holston Valley Medical Center of a heart
attack.
She was born July 31, 1913 in Hill Station, Va., and moved withher
family to Kingsport at an early age. She married George F. Milhorn on
June 1, 1932 and until his death on Nov. 14, 1990 they were active in
the Mt.Carmel and Ketron Memorial United Methodist Senior Citizen
Groups.
Mrs. Milhorn was a lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol in good standing
for over 20 years. She was a member of Cedar View Independent
Methodist Church and attendedKetron Memorial United Methodist Church
in her later years.
She was an avidsports fan who loved to watch the Atlanta Braves
baseball team.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George F. Milhorn;
her parents, Ezra and Nannie Starnes; an infant sister, Dora Starnes;
and two sisters, Lantha Gibson and Nora Lane.
Surviving are her beloved son, George T. (Tommy) Milhorn and wife,
Bobbye, Kingsport; a granddaughter, Cindy Milhorn Fleenor and husband,
James, Blountville; a great-granddaughter, Jamie Anne Fleenor,
Blountville; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Allen and Hildred Ledwell,
both of Kingsport;two brothers-in-law, Sam Milhorn and wife,
Genevieve Milhorn, and Bill Lane,Kingsport; several nieces and
nephews; special friends and neighbors, Ruth Pyle, Drew Hommell and
the Danny Burrell family of Kingsport.
Services will beconducted at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of
Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport, with the Rev. Jim Adcox
officiating.
Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bill Harris, Charlie Norman, Charlie Dixon, James
Fleenor, Jay Flanary and Danny Burrell.

KINGSPORT- Bill David Lane, 82, Circle View Drive, died Monday (Nov.
6, 2000) at Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was a native of Scott County, Va., having moved to Kingsport in
1978. He retired from Tennessee EastmanCompany after over 37 years of
service having worked in supervision 32 of those years.
He was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
He was preceded in deathby his parents, Will and Hettie Edwards Lane;
his first wife, Nora Starnes Lane; a brother, Ross C. Lane and two
infant brothers; a sister, Gertrude Smith and two infant sisters.
Surviving are his wife, Willie Jayne Lane; one daughter, Kaye L.
Medlin, Kingsport; stepdaughter, Patsy N. Luster, Knoxville;
grandsons, Gary Medlin and wife Valerie and Danny Medlin and wife
Sherry, allof Kingsport; four great-grandchildren, Cody, Meghan,
Jessica and Matthew Medlin, all of Kingsport; three stepgrandchildren,
Kathy Ketron, Kingsport, Howard Luster, Texas and Nancy Luster,
Knoxville; sisters, Mrs. Fleeta Jayne, Mrs. Reba Caudill and Mrs.
Margaret Creasman and Mrs. Hubert (Mattie) Long, allof Kingsport;
brother Don B. Lane and wife Phyllis, Kingsport; and several nieces
and nephews.
Friends may call at the residence, Circle View Drive or atthe
residence of his daughter, Kay L. Medlin, Packinghouse Road.
At Billusrequest only graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m.
Thursday at Holston View Cemetery in Weber City, Va. with Brother
Wrightly Salling and Brother Bobby Russell officiating.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Temple Baptist Church,

Monday (July 31, 2000) at her residence.
Born in Scott County, Va. on Sept. 29, 1919, Mrs. Smith was the
daughter of the late Emmett Bartlet (E.B.) and Adeline (Addie)
Jennings Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wrightly N. Smith; one son,
Sherrill Dwayne Smith; two brothers, Harry Taylor and Nathaniel (Nat)
Taylor.
She was a vocational teacher with the Scott County School Board and
retired in 1984.
Surviving are three daughters, Helen Delorres (Dee) Bishop, Gate City,
Va., Janet Elaine Kennedy, Atlanta, Ga., and Valerie Sue Fisher,
Crossville, Tenn.; five sons, Ralph T. Smith, Weber City, Va., E. Ward
Smith, Rutledge, Tenn., Larry N. Smith, Tuscon, Ari., R. Kent Smith,
Weber City, Va., and Dale Rhea Smith, Gate City, Va.; 20 grandchildren
and 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Nina Herron, Sue Taylor
Vermillion and Dorthea (Dot) Rhoten, all of Gate City, Va.; two
brothers, John B. Taylor, Warren, Mich., and CarrollTaylor, Fort
Worth, Texas; several nieces and nephews.

Chemical Co for 44 yrs before retiring in 1986. He was a member of the
USArmy,
Co C, 87th Chemical Mortar Battalion which went ashore early on D-Day
in WW II.
He was wounded by artillery fire 13 days after the invasion. He wasa
Sergeant

rest Monday (June 21, 2004) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was born in Scott County, Va., Sept. 20, 1932, to the late Emmitt
and Addie Taylor.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James
"J.B" Rhoton; one sister, Janie Smith; and two brothers, Nat Taylor
