He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and a graduate of Sullivan HS.
He
received BS and MA degrees from ETSU. He served in various positions
in
Sullivan Co Schools for 43 yrs. He was asst superintendent of Sullivan
Schools
for23 years, and was a candidate for superintendent in 1992. He was a
veteran ofthe Korean War. He served as chairman of the administrative
board
and was former superintendent of Sunday School at Depews Chapel Meth
Ch. 2

Belle Grogg gave it as Harold. Donna's obituary gave his name as

HURRICANE, W.Va. - Harold W. Hood, 76, died Saturday (Oct. 5, 2002) at
Roper Hospital in Charleston,S.C.
He retired from Electrolux Corp., and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of the VFW and was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are a granddaughter with whom he made his home, Robin
Thornhill of Summerville, S.C.; stepdaughter, Lea Ann Hunt of Pliny,
W.Va.; stepson, Sam Midkiff of Rocky Mount, Md.; sisters, Sue King of
Cincinnati, Ohio and Barbara Martin of Tampa, Fla.; four additional
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Calling hoursare from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Chapman Funeral Home,
Hurricane, W.Va.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with
Dr. Dan Hogan officiating.
Burial will be in the Forest Memorial Park, Milton, W.Va.

KINGSPORT - J.F. (June) Crawford Jr., 83, of 1508 Warpath Drive,
Kingsport, passedaway early Sunday morning (Jan. 18, 2004) at his
home following a lengthy illness.
J.F. was born in Sullivan County where he had lived his entire life.
He retired from Eastman after 45 years service as an electrician,
having beena foreman in his last years at work. After retirement from
Eastman, he worked at Phase III Office Systems, Inc. as a microfilmer.
He was an avid golfer and loved to travel.
He was also a member of Depew's Chapel Methodist Church and attended
First Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents,Jasper F., Sr. and Dolly
Crawford; and wife, Ann (Annie) Crawford.
Survivingare daughter, Barbara Sanders, Kingsport; and son, Tom
Crawford, Kingsport;one grandson, Brent Sanders and wife, Angela;
great-grandchildren and specialchildren, Eric, Aleah, Darla, and
Christian; special friend and caregiver, Linda Page; and one niece,
Carolyn Gibson.
We would also like to extend thanks and special appreciation to the
Wellmont Hospice Staff, especially Terri Evans.

Home Chapel.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home

KINGSPORT _ Anna B. Crawford, 78, 1508 Warpath Drive, went to be with
the Lord Friday (June 30, 2000) after a lengthy illness.
She was a Christian lady andattended First Christian Church.
Mrs. Crawford was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her father, TomLuster; mother, Louella
Luster; and two brothers, Rex and Emory Luster.
Surviving are her husband, J.F. Crawford Jr., Kingsport; one daughter,
Barbara Sanders, Kingsport; one son, Thomas F. Crawford, Kingsport;
one grandson, Brent Sanders and granddaughter-in-law, Angela Sanders;
great-grandchildren and special children, Eric, Aleah, Darla and
Christian; one sister, Edna Lanning,Yalaha, Fla.; one niece, Carolyn
McKellar; close friends, Helen and Charlie Lee, Jeri Russell, Audrey
Brock, Jason and Deanna Moore.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral
Home, downtown.
Services willbe conducted at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel
with Dr. Tom Lohr and Pastor David Luster officiating.
Entombment services will be conducted at 11a.m. Monday at Oak Hill
Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Brent Sanders, Melvin Doty, Gary Eidson, John
Branam, Jason Moore, Cliff McKellar and David Luster.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Lee and Walter Carmack.

He lived at Kingsport, TN, and died after a long battle with
emphysema. He was a US Marine veteran and retired from Concrete
