Willie James Kilgore

Lived in Kingsport in 1998, 2001, 03.
KINGSPORT - Willie James Kilgore, 64, of1341 Ridgecrest Ave., went to
be with the Lord on Tuesday (May 6, 2003) at his residence after an
extended illness.
Mr. Kilgore was born in Scott County, Va., but had resided in
Kingsport. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force,airman 2nd class,
having served from 1955-1959.
He was a retired operator for Quebecor Printing and a member of the
Midway Memorial United Methodist Church.
He was a loving husband, dad and papaw.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan W. Kilgore; sister,
Tilda June Kilgore; brothers, Lindsey B. Kilgore and Larry Ray
Kilgore.
Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, Nancy Kilgore, Kingsport;
daughter, Peggy Ann Dougherty and husband Randy, Kingsport; sons,
Willie J. Kilgore Jr. and wife Jewel, Whitesburg, Jimmy Allen Kilgore
and wife Debbie Lynn, Kingsport, Gregory Warren Kilgore and wife
Donna,Fairfax, Va.; mother, Mary Taylor Kilgore, Gate City, Va.;
grandchildren, Misty Dotten and husband Matt, Mandy Baker and husband
Jason, Nikki Marie Haynes, Jason Dougherty, Michael Salyers, Christy
Salyers, Kristina Brooke Kilgore, Brent Kilgore, Amber Kilgore;
great-grandchildren, Madison Yates and AndrewReece Dotten; sisters,
Ann Easterling, Kingsport, Tilda June Robinson and husband Bill, Gate
City, Va.; brothers, Freddie Kilgore, Gate City, Va., Sam Kilgore and
wife Judy, Gate City, Va., Nathan Kilgore Jr. and wife Kandy, Piney
Flats, David Kilgore, Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hoursare from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home,
Weber City, Va., and anytime at the residence.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel
with the Rev. Don Large and the Rev. John Hackney officiating.
Music will be provided by the Midway Memorial United Methodist Church
choir.
Military graveside services will be conducted by American Legion Post
#3 and #265 at 11 a.m. Friday at Holston View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jason Dougherty, Brent Kilgore, Jason
Baker, Matt Dotten; son-in-law, Randy Dougherty; best friends, Phillip
Dingus, John Green and Allen Ray McConnell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Folding Department co-workers.

Junior Calvin Bishop

Lived at Kingsport in 2000.
KINGSPORT - Junior Calvin Bishop, age 78, of Kingsport, died
unexpectedly Monday (Dec. 29, 2003) at 11:20 p.m. at Northside
Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla.
He was born in Sullivan County where he livedhis entire life. Mr.
Bishop was a former employee of Kingsport Press where heworked in the
folding department until 1963. He retired in 1988 from the Kingsport
City School System as a maintenance mechanic and was a member of Good
Shepherd Baptist Church.
He was the son of the late Robert L. and Della Ketron Bishop.
Also preceding him in death were a son, Steward Calvin (Sonny) Bishop;
brothers, Fred E. Bishop, Joe E. Bishop, Emmitt Clay Bishop, Howard
Luster Bishop; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Martin and
Maude Smith.
Surviving are his wife and best friend for 58 years and the love of
his life, Dorothy L. Bishop, of the home; two sisters, Nola Patterson,
Kingsport, Leoma Bishop, Kingsport; four brothers, Wallace Bishop,
Gate City, Va., Chan Bishop and wife Frankie, Kingsport, Randy Bishop
and wife Shirley, Gate City, Va., David Bishop and wife Bobbie,
Kingsport; two sisters-in-law, Emogene Bishop, Peggy Bishop; several
nieces and nephews; and very, very dear and preciousfriends at Good
Shepherd Baptist Church, who were a great blessing to him.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes,
downtownKingsport or anytime at the home.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home
chapel with Pastor Kelvin Bishop, Pastor Robert Fletcher, and Rev.
Victor Wallace officiating.
The Bishop Family and Charles Hickman will provide the music.
Burial will follow at Walnut Chapel Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Gillenwater, Clifford Starnes,
Johnny Browning, Beuford Starnes, Mack Starnes, Mark McMurray, Donnie
Willis, and Harry Watts.
Honorary pallbearers will be nephews and the men's Bible Class of Good
Shepherd Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to the Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 459 Old
Beason Well Road, Kingsport, Tenn. 37660.
