OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Robert Lee Hammonds, 65, passed away Tuesday
night (March 9, 2004) at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla.
He was born and raised in Kingsport and Rogersville.
Preceding him in death were his daughter, Sharon Haynes; parents, Tom
and Lora Hammonds; sisters, Pearl Parsons and Georgia Rhea; brothers,
J.B. Hammonds andJohn D. Hammonds; brothers-in-law, Fred Hensley and
A.B. Parsons.
Survivingare his wife, Wilma; sons, Richard (Ricky) Hammonds and
Jesse Hamonds; daughters, Teresa Hicks, all of Blountville;
stepdaughters, Melissa Hensley of Oklahoma City, Okla., Cindy Ward of
Lincolnton, N.C., and Melony Cloninger of Hickory, N.C.; stepsons,
David Hensley of Homestead, Fla., John Hensley of Oklahoma City, Okla;
several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four sistersand three
brothers-in-law, Marie and Tom Meredith of Mount Carmel, Tempie and
Jim Roten of Rogersville, Shelby and Woodie Roten of Millers Creek,
N.C.,Mary Ann Hensley of Rogersville; one brother and sister-in-law,
Tommy and Glenda Hammonds of Rogersville; sister-in-law, Ruby Hammonds
of Paragould, Ari.;a few nieces, nephews, great-nieces and
great-nephews.
He worked for Giantfor several years in Kingsport and as a security
guard in Oklahoma City, Okla. He was well loved by his neighbors and
friends, especially his little buddy'Logan'' that he helped babysit.

Friends may visit the home of Marie Meredith, 733 Redwood St., Mount
Carmel or any of his sisters or brother at Hammond Road, Rogersville
at anytime.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the funeralhome chapel
with Pastor Pete Smith officiating.
Pallbearers will be friendsand family.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12 noon Saturday at Oak Hill
Memorial Park.
The staff of Oak Hill Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations is
serving the Hammonds family.

KINGSPORT - Albert Benny (A.B.) Parsons, 80, of 344 Claremont Road,
died Monday morning (Nov. 3, 2003) at Wellmont Holston ValleyMedical
Center after an extended illness.
Born in Scott County, Va., he hadresided in Kingsport most of his
life. Mr. Parsons had worked at Blue Ridge Glass and General Motors
and was a residential contractor at the time of his retirement. He was
a Methodist.
His wife, Pearl Parsons; parents; three sisters; and nine brothers
preceded him in death.
Surviving are one daughter andson-in-law, Joyce and David Mullins,
Kingsport; one son, James T. Parsons, Kingsport; three grandchildren,
Regina Herron, Sherry Wright, Katina Perry; nine great-grandchildren,
Brittany, Makayla, Cody, Trevor, Savanna, Kelly, Dustin, Madison,
Evan; one sister, Inez Mitchell and husband Morton, Kingsport; and
several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral
Homes, downtown Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home
chapel with the Rev. Joel H. Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Parsons, Lee Perry, Mark Rogers and James Bond.
