KINGSPORT - Mary L. Hammonds Bare, 67, 3421 Lightwood St., passed away
Wednesday morning (Aug. 22, 2001) at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born April 16, 1934 in Sullivan County, she was the owner and operator
of Bills GE in Kingsport for 38 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was the daughter of Steve and Lissie Starnes Hammonds. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Bill Bare, Dec. 5, 1999; her two
sons, Kenneth Bare, May 1, 2001 and Mike Bare, April 7, 1997.
Surviving are her sister and brother-in-law, Geneand Shirley Hammonds
Byrd, Church Hill; a very special cousin, Mary BaldwinWoods;
brothers, Frank Catron and wife, Juanita, Church Hill and Kelly
Ketron, Kingsport.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Oak Hill Funeral Home and
anytime at the home of her sister, 228 Chestnut St., Church Hill.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home
chapel with the Rev. Alan Buckles and Tim Vaughn officiating.
Graveside services will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

room of Holston Valley Hospital of an apparent heart attack. Preceded

KINGSPORT _ Winona Parker Hammonds, departed this life for a better
place onSaturday (May 13, 2000) at 6 a.m. at her residence after an
extended illness.She was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County,
(Kingsport) and was retiredfrom Belks Department Store after over 25
years of service.
She was a very active member of State Line Baptist Church, having
served on the Out Reach Ministry and as chairman of the Food Group for
several years.
She was precededin death by her parents, Albert Parker and Ora Fish
Parker.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Harold Hammonds of the home;
one daughter and son-in-law Sherry Hammonds Stallard and husband, Joe
Stallard of Kingsport; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary Hammonds and
wife, Patty, Kingsport; four grandchildren, Lynn Clifford, Jimmy
Hammonds, Sabrina Stallard and Anissa Kincer; two great-grandchildren,
Montana Kincer and Hanna Kinser; one step grandson, RyanBaker; two
step-great-grandchildren, Meghan Kincer and Whitney Kincer; a hostof
special friends, co-workers from Belks, especially Kate Walters.
Callinghours are from 4:30 to 7 p.m. today at State Line Baptist
Church (West Carter's Valley).
Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the church with Dr.Tony
Gonzales and Pastor Lonnie (Buddy) Wooten officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill
Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Pastor Gene Hammonds, Bobby Hammonds,
O.W. Ferguson, Greg Russell, Wayne Larkins and Ova Rudd.
Music will be provided by the Tiller Family Singers.

KINGSPORT - H.R. Clifton, 63, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord
unexpectedly on Friday (Dec. 10, 2004) with his family at his side.
Mr. Clifton was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his
grandson.
He attended and was a member of Midfield Baptist Church.
His mother, Ana Mae Clifton preceded him in death.
Surviving are his former wife, Phyllis Clifton; one daughter, Kim
Merrell of Ohio; one son, Jeff Clifton; five grandchildren and special
grandson, Steven Clifton; three great-grandchildren: one sister, Betty
Lawson; one brother, Jack Clifton; uncle and aunt, Rev. R.C. and June
Hammonds; two special cousins, Rena McDavid and Harold Hammonds; three
nieces and two nephews.

Home, Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel
with Rev. Billy Gragg and Rev. R. C. Hammonds officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at East Lawn
Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend the graveside services are
asked to meet at East Lawn MemorialPark by 12:55 p.m.
