KINGSPORT - Hubert T. Lane, 90, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord
Saturday (April 3, 2004) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center
following a lengthy illness.
Born in Keokee, Va., he had resided in Kingsport most of his life and
retired from Tennessee Eastman Company after 30 years of service. He
also enjoyed wood working and crafts.
Mr. Lane was of the Baptist faith.
Preceding him in death were hisparents, Emmet and Nannie Lane; one
brother, Carlos Lane; two sisters, BuenaHasty and Nelle Hilton; and
one infant sister.
Surviving are his wife, EssieLane, Kingsport; one daughter, Marilyn
Light and husband, Cecil, Kingsport;one son, Layman Lane and wife,
Glenda, Ocala, Fla.; five grandchildren, EricLight and wife, Wendy,
Aaron Light, Jason Light and wife, Natalie, Danette Mowdy and husband,
Junior and Jody Robinson; five great-grandchildren, Logan and Ethan
Light, Chasity Robinson, Cameron and Dylan Mowdy; two sisters, Dorothy
Seymour and husband, Everett, Kingsport, Irene Emerine and husband,
Vince, Townville, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to8 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral
Homes, downtown Kingsport.
Serviceswill be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel
with the Rev.Ed Medlin and Dr. Frank Crawford officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at East Lawn
Memorial Park.

GATE CITY, Va.- Ralph Carl Blankenbeckler, 84, died Wednesday (Nov.
22, 2000) at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born in Kingsport on Nov. 6, 1916, he was the son of thelate Robert
and Myrtle Lane Blankenbeckler. He was a World War II U.S. Navy
Veteran and retired from Tennessee Eastman as a pipefitter after over
30 years of service. Mr. Blankenbeckler was of the Holiness faith and
attended Faith Bible Tabernacle.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in deathby a son,
Larry G. Blankenbeckler; sister, Vera Dimiria; three brothers,
Clarence, Charlie and Clyde Blankenbeckler.
Surviving are his wife, Lois HarrisBlankenbeckler, Gate City;
daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Ivan Peters, Gate City; daughter,
Joyce Gose, Nickelsville, Va.; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles W.
and Erica Blankenbeckler, Brownsville, Tex., Gary W. and Debbie
Blankenbeckler, Morrison City, Va.; daughter-in-law, Louise Kilgore

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel
with Pastor Buford Blankenbeckler officiating.
Military graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Henry
Family Cemetery (Snowflake Community), conducted by Charles Dewitt
Byrd VFW Post 3382.
Grandsons and family willserve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roy (Doc) Renfro, Tommy Culbertson, Gene
Davidson and Junior McConnell.
The family will meet at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Sunday to go in
procession to the cemetery.
Immediately following the graveside service, the family will meet at
Faith Bible Tabernacle, Hiltons, Va.

GATE CITY, Va. - Lois Harris Blankenbeckler, 80, passed away Saturday
(Feb. 9, 2002) at Brian Center.
She was born in Wise County on Sept. 26, 1921, and was the daughter of
the late John C. Harris and Laura Mae Blankenbeckler Harris. She was a
homemaker anda volunteer for Holston Valley Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Blankenbeckler attendedFaith Bible Tabernacle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in deathby her husband,
Ralph C. Blankenbeckler (Nov. 22, 2000); son, Larry G. Blankenbeckler;
sisters, Mary Jane Hartsock and Sue Neal; and brothers, Roy C. Harris
and Glen C. Harris.
Surviving are daughters and son-in-law, Judy and Ivan Peters, Gate,
City, Va., Joyce Gose, Nickelsville, Va.; sons and daughters-in-law,
Charles W. and Erica Blankenbeckler, Rio Rancho, N.M., Gary W. and
Debbie Blankenbeckler, Morrison City, Va.; special daughters-in-law,
Louise Kilgore Blankenbeckler, Hiltons, Va., Ann Salyer
Blankenbeckler, Gate City, Va.; 13 grandchildren and 13
great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; sisters, Beulah Lane,
Clinton, Tenn., Hazel Charlton, Baileyton, Ellen Wyatt, Greeneville,

and Kyle Fred Harris, Greeneville; special caregivers, Helen McConnell
and Nancy Lane; several nieces and nephews.

Weber City, Va., and anytime at the residences of Judy Peters and Gary
Blankenbeckler.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home
chapel with the Rev. Buford Blankenbeckler officiating. Music will be
provided by Nancy and Donald Lane.
Burial will follow at Henry Family Cemetery (Snowflake community),
Gate City.
Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Davidson, Hank Rasnic, Glen Nickels,
Mack Gilliam, Boyd Meade and Junior Jessee.

He lived in Kingsport for 25 yrs. He died as a result of injuries in a
motorcycle accident at Boone, NC. He retired from AFG Industries and
was a veteranof US Air Force. He played music and sang with several
area gospel groups andwas currently with Shining Star. 3 g-ch

WEBER CITY, Va. - Henry "Monkey" Wampler, 74, entered into rest
Saturday (Feb. 22, 2003) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Scott County, Va., on August 26, 1928 to the late Clyde
Freeman and Pluma Elliott Wampler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister,
Myranell Kilgore.
Mr. Wampler was the formerowner of Monkey City Market.
Survivors include his wife, Annie BlankenbecklerWampler, Weber City;
daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Bud Cox, Fall Branch; son and
daughter-in-law, Donnie and Elois Wampler, Gate City, Va., Jeff and
Dawn Wampler, Blountville; sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne and
Eugene Williams, Gate City, Va.; special brother-in-law and wife, Carl
"Butler" and Sue Kilgore, Gate City, Va.; four grandchildren, Jeremy
and wife Melony Cox, Dustin, Landon and Justus Wampler; one
great-grandchild, Austin Cox; stepgrandchildren, Shawn, Karen and
Maria; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; several niecesand nephews.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday in the Gene Falin Memorial
Chapel of the funeral home with Brother Danny Grizzle and Brother
Buford Blankenbeckler.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holston View
Cemetery, Weber City, Va. The family will be meeting at 10:15 a.m. at
thefuneral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
