ALLEN PARK, Mich. -John Bradley LaForce, 71, passed away Sunday
(April 27, 2003).
He was bornDec. 23, 1931 to the late Samuel Jay Elbert and Pearl
Gilbert LaForce of Ft.Blackmore, Va.
John was a member of Sunset Church of Christ in Taylor, Mich. He was a
veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1952 to 1954. John retired
from United Van Lines in December 1995 after 35 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Nina Faye LaForce; three sons
and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Denise LaForce, Allen Park, Mich.,
Jeff LaForce, Vallejo, Calif., and Lennis Jon and Jennifer LaForce,
Brownstown, Mich.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Warren and
Grace, Clinchport, Va., James and Vivian, YuccaValley, Calif., and
Leonard and Juanita, Roseville, Mich.; six sisters, LoisWood,
Lynnville, Tenn., Gladys Wagner, Kingsport, Mildred Owens, Gate City,
Va., Sylvia Pierson, Rogersville, and Naomi Benton and husband Wayne,
Gate City, Va., and Marlene Riggs, Kingsport.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Gate City Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursdayin the Gene Falin
Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Dr. Gene Miller officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Pleasant
Cemetery, Midway community.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
