KINGSPORT - Tina "Sis" Livesay, 35, flew home with the angels on
Wednesday (Aug. 19, 2004) after a lifelong illness.
A nativeof Sullivan County, she had lived in the area and in Virginia
her entire life. She enjoyed working puzzles, coloring, laughing,
feeding "Sissy's" horse and spending time with family and friends and
will be missed by all that knewher. Tina is of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her father andmother, Elmer and Phyllis
Livesay; her Papaw and Mamaw, Frank and Lizzie Livesay; a sister,
Nichole Barbour; a niece, Payslee Fink Gaby; her stepdad, Jimmy Bowen;
a nephew, Ricky Christian; her maternal grandmother, Corinne Lane;
paternal uncle, Gary Lane; and paternal aunt, Opal Lane.
Surviving are foursisters, Amy Livesay Fink, of Kingsport, Nicky
Russell and husband Brandon ofKingsport, Mary Ellen Jones of
Kingsport, Mary Ann Bowen Olterman and husband Art of Portland, Tenn.;
her mom, Brenda Livesay Bowen of Church Hill; her mamaw, Emma Smith of
Church Hill; three brothers, Dewayne Livesay and wife Rachael of
Kingsport, Adam Christian and Chad Vicars, both of Church Hill;
maternal grandfather, Daniel Lane, Kingsport; several nieces, nephews,
aunts, uncles, cousins and special loved ones at Jamidex in Abingdon,
Va.; sisterly cousin, Missy Bowen Ferguson.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Carter-Trent Funeral
Home, downtown Kingsport. Family and friends may call anytimeat the
home of the sister, Amy Fink, 1809 Highland St., Kingsport.
Serviceswill be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel
with Kyle Falin officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Old
Kingsport Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the
graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:55 a.m.
Pallbearers willbe Dewayne Livesay, Adam Christian, Chad Vicars,
Dakota Fink and Jessee Christian.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carter-Trent
Funeral Home, P.O Box 1129, Kingsport, Tenn. 37662 to help offset the
funeral expense.
CHURCH HILL - Jimmy Garland Bowen, 56, 227 Payne Ridge Road, died
Saturday (July 5, 2003) due to injuries resulting from an automobile
accident.
He was aconstruction worker and master carpenter with Wasco
Construction Co. in Nashville. His hobbies included building and
working with his hands and playing with his grandkids.
He was the best husband, father, and grandfather in the world.
He was a Baptist by faith.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; parents,
Garland and Iva Lawson Bowen; son, Chad Bowen; daughter, Nicole
Barbour; granddaughter, Payslee Fink; and many uncles and aunts.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda Sue Smith Bowen, of the home;
daughters, Mary Ann Bowen, Kingsport, Amy Fink, Kingsport, Tina
Livesay, Abingdon, Va., and Mary Ellen Farrell Jones, Kingsport; sons,
Chris Simpson, Nashville, Wayne Livesay,Adam Livesay, Chad Vicars and
Donnie Castle, all of Kingsport, Tony Bowen, Fall Branch, and Jimmy
Simpson, Knoxville; 18 grandchildren; sister, Nina Shuffler,
Greeneville; good friend, Marty Gaby.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Carter-Trent Funeral Home
Chapel, downtown Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home
chapel with the Rev. Ron Manis and the Rev. Billy Bowen officiating.
Music will be provided by the Harbor Light Quartet and family.
Burial will follow in Old Kingsport Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Adam Christian, Chris Simpson, Deewett Riner,
Jerry Freeman, Arthur Oltermann III and Jackie Barbour.
Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
