Mary'sHospital in Norton, Va.
Mr. Lane was an employee of Lawson Timber. His hobbieswere hunting
and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Patrica Lane; a son, GlenLane Jr., of the
home; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Todd Robinson,
Castlewood, Va.; parents, Ellis Robert and Frances Lane, Coeburn, Va.;
sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Jackie Penley, Kingsport; four
brothers andsisters-in-law, Dale Robert and Betty Lane, Coeburn, Va.,
David and Linda Lane, St. Paul, Va., Norman Lane, Coeburn, Va., and
Gary and Vickie Lane, Coeburn, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are after 6 p.m. Sundayat Estes Funeral Home, Coeburn,
Va.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel
with the Rev. Alvin Meade officiating.
Burial will follow in the Harvey family cemetery, Coeburn, Va.

DUFFIELD, Va. - Ray DeweyStarnes, 84, entered into rest Wednesday
(Oct. 3, 2001) at Hillside Manor Nursing Home.
He was born in Scott County, Va., on Feb. 26, 1917 to the late Edgar
Edward and Barbara Allen Edwards Starnes.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by one great-grandson,
Ethan Starnes; one daughter-in-law, Ona Starnes; two sons, William and
Ronald Starnes; one sister, Gladys Babb; three brothers, George, Henry
and Marion Starnes.
Survivors include his wife,Nancy L. Starnes, Duffield, Va.; four sons
and daughters-in-law, James Claudeand Louise Starnes, Ft. Blackmore,
Va., Donald and Velma Starnes, Dungannon,Va., Gary and Reba Starnes,
Duffield, Va., and Dewey and Susan Starnes, Duffield, Va.; two
step-daughters and husbands, Barbara and Jerry Begley and Kathy and
Clifford Sturgill, both of Ft. Blackmore, Va.; brother and
sister-in-law, Carl and Maxie Starnes, Kingsport; eight grandchildren;
six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several step
grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren; and several nieces
and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Old Midway Freewill
Baptist Church.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with Rev.
Denny Hass and Rev. Walker Darnell officiating.
Music will be provided by Working Toward the Promise Singers.
Burial will follow the service at Starnes Family Cemetery, Stanleytown
community.
Grandchildren and step grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Blackmore, Va., Brenda Kilgore and Sherry Kilgore, both of Kingsport
and Mrs. Judy (Darel) Babb, Gate City, Va.; one son, Donald and Brenda
Starnes, Kingsport; 12 grandchildren; four brothers, James Cloude
Starnes,Ft. Blackmore, Va., Donald Fred Starnes, Dungannon, Va., Gary
Wayne Starnesand Ray Dewey Starnes Jr., both of Duffield, Va.;

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Stanleyton Community
Church with the Rev. Charlie Taylor and the Rev. Mike Ervin
officiating.
The body will lie in state from 12 noon to 2p.m.
Music will be provided by Toke Hensley, Val Perry, Gary Hunley and
Jerry Hunley.
Burial will be at the Starnes Family Cemetery, Duffield, Va.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers, and nephews will serve

MANCHESTER, Pa. - Curtis E.Perry Sr., 61, of Newberry Township,
Manchester, entered into rest Tuesday (Nov. 27, 2001) at his
residence.
Born Feb. 2, 1940 in Ft. Blackmore, Va., hewas a son of the late John
William and Etta Jewell (Hall) Perry. He retiredfrom York
International after 31 years of service and most recently worked
part-time for Schaad Detective Agency.
Survivors include a son, Curtis EdwardPerry Jr., Dover, Pa.; a
daughter, Melanie Ann Wisner, Dover, Pa.; four sisters and
sons-in-law, Julia Bernice Mitchell, Nickelsville, Va., Nancy Lou
Starnes, Duffield, Va., Linis and Gaynell Begley, and Larry and
Darlene Sue Bowen, both of Weber City, Va.; two brothers, Roy Mack
Perry, York Haven, Pa., and Gerald Marion Perry, Duffield, Va.; three
granddaughters and one grandson;several nieces and nephews; also a
very special friend, Mary Hunter, Manchester, Pa.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Heffner Funeral Home
Chapel and Crematory, Inc.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of the
funeral home with the Rev. Mabel L. Seville officiating.
Burial will follow at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
