KINGSPORT - Robert Lee Horton, 75, Rich Drive, went to be with the
Lord on Sunday (April 29, 2001) at Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol,
Tenn.
Hewas born in Hancock County (Eidson), and moved to Kingsport in
1943.
He retired from Eastman Chemical Corp. with over 42 years of service.
He was a memberof Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George M. Horton and Corna
Williams Horton; one sister, Flora Belle Tate; and onebrother, George
Charlie Horton.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Glenna (Brickey) Horton, of the home; two
sons and daughter-in-law, Dennis Lee Horton and wife, Donna, and Bobby
Lynn Horton, all of Kingsport; two grandsons, Aaron Horton and Matthew
Horton; a sister, Madge H. Jones, Rogersville.
Calling hoursare from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Cedar Grove Baptist Church
(Coley Street).
Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today at the church with Dr.
Edgar Pierce and the Rev. Mack Turner officiating.
Music will be provided by Jack Salyers.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at East Lawn
Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Sam Pearson, Gary Hall, Jimmy Canty, Aaron Horton,
Matt Horton, Don Shipley, Hugh Brummett, Keith Ramey, Ralph Sanders
and Wayne Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Wheelock, Bob Shumate, Elbert
Estepp, Charlie King, Otis Green, Omer Tipton, Sam Lawson, Floyd
Gamble, Carl Edens and Shannon Powers.
