CHURCH HILL - Kyle Alley, 69, of 109 Highland Avenue, passed away
Saturday (July 28, 2001) at his home following an extended illness.
Mr. Alley was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County, and was of the
Baptist faith. He was a retired employee of the Mead Corporation with
41 years of service.
Mr. Alley wasa veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of Church Hill
VFW Post No. 9754 where he served as Color Guard Commander for the
past ten years.
He served as avolunteer for the Shepherd Center and also the Senior
Citizens organization.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer K. and Effie Huckaby
Alley;three brothers, Raymond Alley, Dallas Alley and Robert Alley;
three sisters,Delphia Cooper, Naomi Thacker and Gladys Fern Alley.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Lawson Alley, Church Hill; two daughters
and son-in-law, Sandra and Mitchell Clark, Mount Carmel, and Sherry
Alley, Gray; one son and daughter-in-law,Steven K. and Tracy Alley,
Church Hill; four grandchildren, Kylee and RachelClark, Todd and
Kacey Alley; one brother, Rev. J.R. Alley, Church Hill; onesister,
Viola Trent, Rogersville; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hoursare from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Johnson Funeral Home,
Church Hill, and anytimeat the residence.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday in the funeralhome chapel
with the Rev. Jim Manis and the Rev. David Salley officiating.
Graveside services with military honors conducted by the Hawkins
County ColorGuard will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Church Hill
Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be members of the Hawkins County Color Guard.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be
made to the building fund ofthe First Free Will Baptist Church of
Church Hill.
